The group doesn't even seem to care about my presence except for the blonde girl... just how many years have I been gone? Back then, the mere mention of my tittle was enough to make people open their eyes wide in recognition, but now? Not even a simple gasp... it feels surprisingly good, I never really liked those unwanted praises or the usual recognition in terror.
I push my thoughts aside and slowly try to get up, my body still weak from my time in hell... yet I can feel my muscles and body quickly recovering their old shape. Just who has the power to heal someone like this?
Ellios: I am sorry for the sudden intrusion, but could someone tell me where are we? I'm a little lost.
The blonde girl quickly regains her composure and proudly puffs her chest before trying to speak to me.
???: why of course! Thou find thyself in the-
???: Don Quixote, must I remind me our task as hand?
Out of nowhere, the woman with that emotionless gaze decides to rudely interrupt the blonde girl... Don Quixote? What a peculiar name.
Don Quixote: b-but Miss Faust, the man in front of us is-
Faust: whoever he may be, Faust cares not, and we have important matters to take care of. You can aid him later.
And yet again, Don Quixote is abruptly interrupted by Faust; it doesn't take much to see that she is the one in charge. That kind of stare brings back a few memories of a specific AI that never had enough of getting under my skin.
Faust soon notices my silence and lets out a low sigh. she then just gives a quick glance at me before moving her hand, as if telling me to join them, before calmly directing her attention back to the man with the clock head... well, it ain't like I have much to do, and if I can get the answers I need faster this way, then so be it.
As soon as I approach the group, a few of their eyes fall on me, but I direct my attention specifically to the man with a clock head.
Ellios: ... I assume you are the one in charge?
???: Tick Tock, Tick Tock <so it seems, although I am not quite sure how that came to happen>
Ellios: what do you mean by that?
Faust: what Dante said was-
Ellios: yeah, I heard what he said, I am only wondering what he meant by "not quite sure how that came to happen"
Faust's eyes go slightly wide, as if she wasn't expecting that answer from me.
Faust: so you can understand him?... interesting, you shouldn't be able to.
I tried to come up with a reply, feeling like she was calling me stupid or something of the sort, just to finally came to realize that I can speak... Tick Tock? How the hell can I understand what this clock head is talking about? Despite my questions and doubts, I decide to set them aside; I don't want to waste more time than is necessary
Ellios: i... it doesn't matter, Dante was it? Look, I'm sorry if my presence adds another layer of confusion to your dilemma, but I really need to know where we are.
Dante: <trust me. I'd also like to know>
Ellios: ... okay buddy, you're making less sense the longer we talk.
... Only more questions filled my mind at this point, was this man unable to remember who he was? If so, that would explain his current state... but as much as I would like to just sit down and talk to him about his situation. I have no time to waste, I must... I must... for a moment I stop and ponder over this. What am I even going to do? I just came back from a place that can only be described as hell, after god knows how long, everyone I knew are probably dead, along with the old Lobotomy Corporation... what was even my goal anymore?
