A tear escaped my eye as I scoffed at the memory. How could he leave me? I thought bitterly. He was my first love, and I thought he would be my last. I had been so in love with him, but maybe I wasn't enough for him. I hated him for breaking my heart, for leaving me shattered. Did he only date me because I was rich?
My love for him consumed me, and when he left, I spiraled into a dark place. If it weren't for my angel, I might have never found my way out.
Suddenly, Jisoo barged into the room, her voice sharp and filled with disbelief.
"ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! YOU'RE MARRYING YOUR BEST FRIEND AND DITCHING THE ONE YOU LOVE? WAS YOUR LOVE FOR HIM FAKE, Y/N?!"
I stayed silent, my heart pounding in my chest.
"ANSWER ME! HOW CAN YOU BE SO STUPID?" Jisoo demanded, her frustration boiling over.
"I am FIRM in my decision, unnie," I whispered, grabbing the bouquet of flowers from the table. With a heavy heart, I walked toward the aisle, a tear rolling down my cheek.
At the Pavilion
Y/N's POV
The priest recited the prayers, and Jimin stood across from me, glancing occasionally at his girlfriend in the crowd, sorrow etched into his features.
I couldn't stop my thoughts from drifting to Taehyung. You deserve someone better, Tae. I really, really love you, and my love for you won't end, but I'm not good enough for you. Tears threatened to fall again. I'm sorry, Tae. I'm sorry, Jungkook. Maybe I just wasn't enough.
And then I saw him.
He was standing at the back, crying quietly while serving the catering. The moment our eyes met, he quickly turned to leave.
No, no, Tae, don't leave! I wanted to scream, to run to him, to throw my arms around him and tell him how much I loved him. But before I could move, Jimin grabbed my hand, whispering urgently.
"Y/N, no. Don't even think about it. You know your family could hurt him if you do."
I swallowed hard, torn between my heart and my brain. And like the fool I was, I listened to my brain. I stayed.
Just then, a large limousine pulled up through the aisle, marking the arrival of something—someone—that would change everything.
