Amon and the rest of his squad spent about ten hours traveling around the outer part of the island. "I think we should head to the heart of the island," Amon suggested. "But only if each of us can reach the ascended realm," Amon continued. "Why would you want to go there?" Jake asked. "Imagine the treasures we could find," Amon replied.
"The amount of ascendant crystals must be in abundance there, I presume," Amon added. "Yeah, that's to be expected, but the danger would also be unimaginable," Jake interjected. "The worst possible scenario would be if we were to get in a battle with multiple titans at the same time," he continued. "That's a good point," Dustin chimed in. "Well what if we learn how to take down titans in pairs," Lee suggested.
"That would be increasingly risky," Jake said. "We can't get big rewards without taking some risks," Amon added. "I'll think about it," Jake said, ending the discussion. Amon and his squad finally made it to a spot they all felt like was a good location to build and set up a camp for the night. Later that night, Dustin and Lee were fast asleep.
Amon and Jake went a few feet away from their camp so they could both train inside Jake's Divine Domain. Inside the Divine Domain, Jake helped Amon comprehend Lightning-attribute energy. "I think I'm starting to get it," Amon floated in the air, smiling at Jake. "Good," Jake said. "I think we should call it a night," Jake suggested.
"Alright," Amon said, agreeing. Amon and Jake's conscious's had returned from the Divine Domain. Amon had opened his eyes and wiped the blood from the side of his mouth. "I'm starting to understand this lightning energy," Amon thought. "Just a little more, and I'll be able to help Jake even more against the titans," Amon whispered.
"I'm happy he cares about aiding me this much," Jake thought as he read Amon's thoughts. "For some reason it requires more energy to read his thoughts," Jake thought, as he looked at Amon. Amon and Jake both got up and walked back to their camp to rest for the night. Over the next days, the squad's routine remained the same. They scouted the outer part of the island and set up camp a good distance away from the last camp.
Amon and Jake's night training routine also remained the same. Amon kept on increasing his comprehension of his newly learned attribute. Each day, he adjusted to Jake's Divine Domain, which also strengthened his aura and his body. The reason he was able to withstand the power of the Divine Domain was because it was unfinished, and because Jake wasn't weaponizing it. The third reason is all thanks to Amon's body strengthening techniques from early in his cultivation journey.
After traveling about halfway around the island, the squad began to learn alot more about the territory. "Alright guys, it's about that time," Jake said, grinning. The other squad members got up and prepared to head out again. "We should be very close to being done with our map of the outer part of the island," Jake said, happily. The team left and began their search for the next best location.
After traveling about eight hundred miles, the team began to sense a powerful aura. Jake's eyes locked onto where the aura was coming from. "Wait everyone, let's come to a stop," Jake ordered. Jake extended his consciousness in the direction of the powerful aura, being extra cautious not to reveal himself or his location. Jake saw a blue titan and scanned its surroundings to make sure it was alone.
"It's our lucky day guys," Jake said, eagerly. "It's a level one titan," he continued. "And it's a water titan," he added. "Everyone ready?" He asked. "Yes sir!" His squad replied cheerfully. Jake flew into the sky and headed towards thet Titan at full speed. Amon, Dustin and Lee followed behind him on foot, running at top speed.
Upon flying up to the Titan, Jake hovered over it in the air. He looked down at the Titan as he waited for his team to catch up. "To what do I owe this pleasure," the water titan's voice boomed. "You owe nothing, for I am here to defeat you," Jake said as he channeled lightning-attribute energy throughout his body. Jake flew at the Titan's chest and charged at it with a kick.
The kick was strong enough to push the Titan back dozens of yards. Jake smiled at how much stronger he had gotten, compared to the last time he fought a Titan. "Don't get cocky brat!" The Titan roared as it opened its mouth wide. The Titan shot huge waves of water out of its mouth at Jake, catching him off guard. Jake didn't have time to dodge, so he attempted to block instead.
Jake covered his face with his arms, with hopes of blocking the water blast. The blast collided with Jake's body and knocked him out of the sky and hard onto the ground. "Jake!" Dustin yelled as he ran to his side. "I'm fine," Jake said as he rose to his feet and back into the sky. Lee and Amon raced towards the Titan.
Lee wrapped his kunai knives with paper bombs and threw them at the back of the Titan's legs. Two loud explosions rang throughout the area one after another as the water Titan fell to its knees. Amon jumped high into the sky and channeled his lightning-attribute energy into his hand. Blue lightning could now be seen wrapping around his body and focusing in his right hand. "I'm going to release my first energy center for even more power," Amon thought.
Suddenly, lightning energy within his body grew greatly. "No way," Justin said, watching the power of Amon's attack. "Lightning Shiver!" Amon yelled as he came down toward the head of the Titan with a powerful lightning attack. The jab covered Amon's body in lightning, making him appear like a lightning bolt striking the head of the Titan. "Curse you all!" The Titan roared as it was obliterated by Amon's attack.
Amon flew through its body into the ground beneath it. A loud boom was heard as Amon came in contact with the earth below the Titan. Dust and debris flew in all directions. "So that's what him and Jake have been working on," Dustin said in amazement. "Even Amon's able to comprehend an attitude," Lee thought to himself.
"Amon's lightning attack was actually much stronger than he's ever shown me," Jake thought to himself. "Seems like he's been hiding some more power," Jake whispered, smiling. "Here Jake," Amon said, pulling his arm out of the ground and tossing Jake the ascendant crystal. Jake caught the crystal and stored it. "One down, now two more to go," Jake said, grinning.
The squad left quickly to continue their journey. "We are handling these level one titans pretty easily," Jake thought. "Maybe we could look for a level two, but I think I should wait until they all reach the ascended realm," Jake said, deep in thought. "Hey Jake?" Lee called out. "Yeah, what's up?" Jake responded. "The next titan we encounter, let me and Dustin handle it," Lee suggested.
"Really?" Jake responded. "Well yeah, we all know you and Amon can defeat these things," Lee said. "Me and Dustin have to be able to keep up with you two, so our team can be balanced," Lee continued. "That's true," Jake said, thinking hard about Lee's words. "Ok well the next Titan encounter, Amon and I will fall back," Jake said.
"We will only come to your aid if you ask," Jake added. "Alright deal," Lee said with a grin on his face. "How will they deal with those titans if they don't use any elemental power?" Amon wondered. "But then again, it isn't impossible, all they have to do is destroy parts of it using their raw chi," Amon thought as he began to develop another method of victory over the titans. "They'll have to use the most amount of chi that they possibly can," he whispered quietly.
