39. Titan Hunt Pt.3

After some time passed, Jake and Amon had finally made it back to where Lee and Dustin were recovering from their injuries. Jake laid Amon next to Dustin and Lee, who were also unconscious. "My entire squad is injured because of me," Jake muttered through gritted teeth as he clenched his fist. "I'm going to use my energy to heal them at least until they can all heal themselves," Jake thought to himself. Jake sat near the heads of all three of his teammates.

He placed one hand over Dustin and Lee as he began to channel his energy into them. A few days passed and Dustin and Lee woke up. "About time guys," Jake said, sighing with relief as sweat dripped down the side of his face. "We will attempt to break through to the ascended realm," Dustin said with a determined look in his eye. "We have to make up for the powerlessness we displayed," Lee added.

"First you two can focus on healing yourselves," Jake suggested. "I'm feeding Amon healing pills that'll at least keep his condition from worsening," Jake informed Dustin and Lee. "I need a few days to recover myself," he added. Jake joined Dustin and Lee on the floor as he sat cross-legged on the floor. Four more days had passed until Jake had recovered all his energy.

"OK now, let's take care of you, Amon," Jake said, sitting down near Amon's head. Jake channeled energy into Amon and began to heal him. "Let me see if I can enter his consciousness," Jake whispered to himself. Jake's consciousness entered Amon's mental space where he saw Amon floating in a cross-legged position. "Amon!" Jake called out as he flew closer. "What's up?" Amon said as he turned to Jake.

"I wanted to thank you, and if it wasn't for you, we all would have been killed," Jake told Amon with a sad look on his face. "Hey don't stress about it," Amon said. "It was nothing," he added, modestly. "But I should stress, the damage you sustained is pretty bad," Jake said. "You can take a few weeks to recover," Jake continued.

"Do me a favor and put one of the Ascendant Crystals in one of my hands when you return to the real world," Amon said. "Sure, but are you really going to try and break through to the next realm in the shape you are in?" Jake asked curiously. "My body is beat up but my mind and soul aren't," Amon replied with a grin. "Plus it won't hurt to try," he added. "Alright, well I'll give you both of them," Jake said.

"No, one is fine," Amon said. "But you earned both of them," Jake replied. "Yeah, that may be true, but we have two other friends that need to increase their power too," Amon said. "Ok, thanks," Jake said as he left Amon's mental space. Jake returned to the real world and put the Ascendant Crystal in Amon's hand and balled his hand up with the crystal inside. "There, hopefully your plan works man," Jake said as he looked at Amon with a grin.

"Here both of you take this," Jake said as he tossed Dustin and Lee one ascendant crystal each. "We don't deserve these," Dustin said, looking down at the crystal in his hand. "Amon specifically asked me to hand one to both of you," Jake replied. "Well we won't let him down," Lee said gripping the crystal tighter with a determined look in his eyes. Dustin and Lee both left together so they can attempt a breakthrough to the ascended realm.

Meanwhile, deep in Amon's mental space, he felt the power of the ascendant crystal. "The power within this crystal is mind-blowing," Amon said, smiling. "I knew these things packed a lot of power, but you really feel the power when you're cultivating it," he continued. Amon began to absorb all the energy from the crystal slowly. "First I'll strengthen my body, and that'll heal me up very quickly," he said.

Amon began to absorb the energy from the crystal into his body, and all of his bones, blood vessels, muscles, organs and skin became much more durable and healthy. About a week had passed and Jake went to check on Amon. Upon walking up to his body, Jake noticed Amon's body had regained its color and warmth. "Has he really begun to break through?" Jake wondered. "This guy is full of surprises," Jake thought, as he smiled and turned to walk out of the tent.
