It was Friday and everyone at school was quiet. Everyone on edge to see what happened. I had a plan. I was going to humiliate Mason Daley once and for all. It was ten minutes before lessons and everyone was hanging around the corridor. Mason was up one end at his locker and looked shocked when he turned round to see me standing behind him. I really didn't want to do this but it had to be done.

"How dare you! I know what you did!" I scream. Everybody turns to look at us. Mason turns an awkward shade of pink.

"Excuse me?" He says back in a confused voice.

"How dare you cheat on me with my own best friend!?" A gasp went down the corridor like a Mexican wave.

"How did you come up with that crazy idea?!" He says back with a voice that was so close to a quiver I thought he might of fainted.

"I saw it in your eyes. The look you give girls when you want to hook up with them. The text you sent Kim. The way you didn't want to meet on Tuesday and the way you tried to run out of the canteen trying to hide from me. Why? Why my best friend? Just why?"

"You've got your facts wrong love." He says with such a certainty that I am wondering if I have got my facts wrong. Everyone starts to laugh.

I hear from somewhere behind me shout "You're a liar." And "You go Mason!" I feel humiliated.

"It's over," I say at his face, as calmly as I can. And I walked away. Away from the hottest guy I knew, away from the love I knew I would miss, away from the warm body that lay next to me when I fell asleep that Friday night. Goodbye perfection. Goodbye.
