So, let me tell you this: all those movies where dads are in the delivery room, holding hands and wiping sweat off their wife's brow while looking calm? Absolute lies. Total nonsense. I was standing there in the middle of the hospital room, watching my wife scream like a banshee, and my brain was short-circuiting.

Jiya was sitting there, in full-blown labor, gripping the hospital bed rail so tightly I thought it might break. Her face had turned an alarming shade of red, and she was shouting at the top of her lungs.

"TANISHK, YOU'RE NEVER TOUCHING ME AGAIN!" she yelled, her voice dripping with the kind of fury I had only ever seen in horror movies. I winced, unsure if I should be comforting her or defending my poor, innocent self from this verbal onslaught.

"B-but, sweetheart, you're doing great—"

"Don't sweetheart me! This is all YOUR fault!"
I blinked rapidly. Well, she wasn't entirely wrong, but....ouch, that one stung.

I glanced nervously at the doctor, hoping for some advice, but they were too busy focusing on the real job at hand: delivering our baby. Meanwhile, I was pacing around, doing a terrible job at staying composed. My hands were sweaty, my heart was pounding, and my mind was racing. What was I even supposed to do here? Hold her hand? Cheer her on?

But then... curiosity hit me. I'd heard stories about how wild and intense this moment was. So, naturally, I did what any guy with a little too much curiosity would do.

I tried to peek near the area where the baby was, uh... coming out. Let me just say... I have never regretted a decision more in my life.

As soon as I leaned in for a closer look, Jiya stopped screaming, mid-labor, and her eyes shot wide open. She turned her head slowly toward me, still panting from the pain, her face beet red. The doctor even paused for a second, looking up at me in disbelief.

"What. Are. You. Doing?" Jiya hissed, her voice barely above a whisper, but it sent shivers down my spine. I gulped, feeling my blood run cold.

"I... uh... I was just... curious?" Her eyes narrowed, and her nostrils flared.

"If you don't step back right now, I swear I will end you," I immediately backed up, hands raised in surrender.

"Okay, okay! No peeking, got it!" But it was too late. Jiya had already lost whatever patience she had left.

"Doctor," she gasped, clutching her stomach as another contraction hit.

"Please throw him out. I'm begging you," The doctor, clearly trying not to laugh, glanced at me and then back at Jiya.

"Well, if you think it will help with your stress levels..." Before I could defend myself, Jiya pointed at me with a trembling hand.

"OUT!" I froze, blinking rapidly.
