Alright, deep breath.
This is it.
The moment where everything either goes exactly as I planned... or crashes down in flames.
The battle at the USJ is absolute chaos. The air is filled with shouts, blasts of quirks, and the thunderous footsteps of both heroes and villains. But for me? It's all about timing now. I've set everything in motion, and this is where my plan has to come together.
A quick glance shows the League closing in. Dabi's got his eyes locked on Aizawa, flames at the ready. Toga's bouncing on her toes, knives gleaming in her hands. Twice is shouting a million different versions of himself into the fray. And Kurogiri? He's waiting for my signal.
They're expecting me to lead the charge, to finish this.
But I'm not about to let that happen—not the way they want it.
I've spent the entire battle carefully maneuvering, walking the line between playing the villain and keeping my real goals intact. Now, it's time to wrap this up.
All Might is still in the distance, regrouping after our fight. He's strong—no question about that—but even he's starting to wear down. The Nomu may be out of commission, but I've kept the fight going long enough to buy time.
But it's not just about holding out anymore.
It's about making sure no one dies. And pulling off the biggest act of my life.
I make my move, sprinting toward the center of the battlefield. Heroes and villains alike part in the chaos, leaving me a clear path. Dabi throws a lazy smirk my way, probably thinking I'm going in for the kill. If only he knew.
Dabi: Finally getting your hands dirty, boss?
Me: You could say that.
I leap into action, dodging blasts and strikes as I weave my way through the chaos. Every step is calculated, every move designed to lead me to the exact spot I need to be. The League's watching, the heroes are watching. All eyes are on me.
Me: Showtime.
I reach the center of the USJ, right where Kurogiri's portal is opening. He's already in position, ready to extract the League once I give the signal. But I need to make this look convincing. Like I'm actually leading this charge, when in reality? I'm about to end it.
Me: Kurogiri, now!
The portal shimmers to life, black and purple swirling around me. The League begins to converge, moving toward the exit I've created for them. Heroes close in from all sides, but it's too late. My plan is in motion.
Me: This ends here!
I shout, my voice echoing across the USJ. It sounds like a threat, but really? It's a promise. The battle's over—not in the way anyone expected, but it's over.
I glance toward the students, seeing their exhausted faces. Bakugo, Todoroki, and the others—still standing, still fighting. I made sure none of them were hurt beyond what was necessary. They don't know it, but I've been protecting them this entire time.
Me: You're welcome, by the way. But let's not make it obvious.
All Might charges forward, his fist drawn back for one final attack. But I'm ready. I've timed this perfectly. Kurogiri's portal is ready to close, the League is retreating, and I've done my part.
Me: See you around, hero.
I disappear into the portal, just as All Might's punch crashes into the ground where I stood moments before. The heroes are left standing in the wreckage, the villains gone, and the battle... finally over.
And that's how you fake your way through a villain's job.
Not bad, right?
The League gathers around me as we emerge from the portal. They're battered and bruised, but alive. More importantly, they're starting to look at me with something that feels dangerously close to respect.
Twice: That was insane, boss! You totally owned that fight!
Toga: No blood at all...How boring!
Dabi: Didn't think you had it in you to stand toe-to-toe with All Might.
I roll my eyes, trying not to let their words get to me.
Me: Please. Like it was even a challenge. All Might's a has-been.
Kurogiri's voice cuts through the chatter, calm and steady.
Kurogiri: The mission was a failure, Usagi. But there will be questions. The heroes will regroup. We must be prepared for what comes next.
Questions?
Oh yeah, there's going to be plenty of those. Not just from the heroes, though.
The League's starting to notice things too.
I can feel it—the way they're looking at me. They're starting to question why I didn't go for the kill. Why I left so many heroes standing. Why I seemed more interested in playing defense than offense.
And that's going to be a problem.
I shrug, keeping my tone casual.
Me: We'll be ready.
