"Are you sure you weren't talking to anyone ?" I asked as me and Sans descended deeper into the tomb.

"yeah trust me pal" he responded casually. Despite his assurance, I feel like something is off, he was probably hiding something. But then again, I knew better than to pry into personal secrets,

As we ventured further, the air grew heavier with each step. Finally, we entered a massive chamber where a towering gate appeared before us. It was undeniable, behind that gate is what I had been searching for, the key to proving myself and securing my place in their legacy.

"You seemed oddly eager to face the challenge, huh?" Sans said, there seems to be a hidden meaning behind his words. but i don't care, This was my chance to silence the doubters, to prove to them they are wrong

"I've prepared for this," I replied, my voice steady. I had researched every detail that I thought I would need. I know the odds were stacked against me, but this is my golden opportunity.

When I approached the gate, however, I was met with reality as the glowing symbols revealed themselves again, along with seven holes on the gate but they are longer. Much longer.

I was flabbergasted, not giving me time to recover, the room was met with a tremor as the sounds of machinery roared into motion.

"The hell is that?" Sans asked as he immediately prepared to battle. A faint blue glow appeared at his side as he drew out what was seemingly a sword from Inazuma.

"It's the Tomb Guard of the Desert King, but I haven't seen seven of them appearing at once," I said. My body trembled as I saw them. Unlike the normal primal constructs which I can deal with even many of them, this one is entirely different.

"Can we even survive this?" I murmured to myself.

"Calm down" Sans responded, his hand tapping me on the shoulder. "translate the symbols. one by one if you have to. i'll buy as much time as possible"

"R-right!" I answered as I began to translate the ancient symbols.

The sound of metal clashing and lasers blasting shattered the silence of the tomb, transforming it into an arena of death. I couldn't afford to stop; every moment counts, every second is important. Sans is fending them off the best he could to give me time to solve these symbols. "I must not fail this." I repeat my thoughts to myself. trying my best to ignore the sound of death behind me. Sweat dripped from my forehead, and shivers ran down my spine as I unwittingly imagined the dire consequences of failure. If Sans couldn't fend them off any longer... if he fell... I would be at the mercy of these machines. And everyone knows, machines never show mercy.

My eyes dilated from the stress. I shouldn't have come down here. I shouldn't have left in the first place. "Is this where I'm going to die?" I murmured, my voice trembling with fear. "Please, if there is a miracle somewhere, please help us." Tears streamed down my cheeks, an unfamiliar sensation after years of emotional numbness. "Is this what people feel when they're close to death?". I couldn't focus. I couldn't breathe. The overwhelming fear and helplessness clouded my thoughts. "I just want to run away from here. But where am I supposed to run?" The seven machines Sans is fighting blocked every path, trapping us in this chamber

The ground trembled beneath us as the machines closed in, their mechanical parts charging up with lethal intent. Sans's body slammed against the gate with a resounding thud, his form crumpling under the force of their assault. I shouted in horror and rushed to him, desperately checking if he was still okay.

"Tch," he grunted, brushing dust from his jacket with a slight smile. "I'll need a good tailor after this."

"How are you not scared?" I shouted, my voice blending with the sounds of machinery

"Why should I be scared?" he replied calmly. "You hold the key to our escape. As long as we have that, we have hope."

With that said, Sans charged back into the fight, confidence shining in his eyes, though I noticed his hands trembled slightly before he rushed at them. I watched him go, the weight of his trust settling heavily on my shoulders. "I won't fail you," I whispered, my fingers flying over the ancient symbols before me. The fear that had clouded my mind moments ago dissolved, replaced by a renewed resolve. If Sans could face this terror without fear, then I would meet it with unwavering determination.
