💖Author's POV💖

As the weeks went by Manik and Nandini found themselves spending more time together but in a different way....

They still did all the things they used to do.... studying, going to the park, talking about their day but now there was something new between them.... A feeling they couldn't ignore.....

One day they were watching a movies together.... It was something they had done many times before..... they had fixed a particular day for movies and dramas...

If one week they did watch movie of Manik's choice then next week it was Nandini's turn and they would watch any k-drama...

So it not nothing usual for them but this time it felt different... As they sat in the home theater with the curtains drawn making the room atmosphere dark....

Their shoulders touched and Manik could feel the warmth of her arm against his.... He wanted to move closer but he didn't...

Instead he glanced at her from the corner of his eye noticing the way the light from the screen made her face glow..... 

She looked beautiful and it made his heart flutter in a way that confused him......

Nandini too was feeling the same.... She didn't know why but being so close to Manik made her nervous but in a good way....

Her heart raced and she had to remind herself to breathe.... She had never felt like this before not even with Manik who had always been her best friend......

The whole movie ended in silence... usually they would chat and comment throughout the flim... but today this was also different...

The did not pass any comments nor talked with eachother as both of them were totally indulged in thinking about the new feelings growing in their hearts....

They didn't talk about it but they didnt want to.... They both knew something had changed between them....

Manik was in his final year of college while Nandini had just joined the same college as a fresher...

It had been a long journey for him with graduation only a few months away while for Nandini everything felt new and exciting....

She was excited and the same time thought of being surrounded by so many new people made her a little nervous....

But knowing that Manik was there made it easier for her.... Just like always Manik had a way of making her feel safe and calm....

Nandini would find him during lunch breaks and they would go to their favorite spot..... the stairs behind one of the department buildings....

It was always quiet there... the building was away from the noise of the college and they would sit on the steps talking about their classes, their friends, and everything in between.....

At home they had a tree in the park that they always sat under..... But here in college the stairs became their special place....

It was where they could be themselves... where they didn't have to worry about anyone else..... Nandini loved those moments feeling like it was just the two of them against the world.....

One afternoon Nandini arrived at their spot carrying her lunch and found Manik already seated there and was scrolling through his phone....

When he saw her approaching he smiled and waved her over.... His smile always made Nandini's heart race a little but she tried her best to act normal.....

Manik : Hey.... so how was ur class

Manik asked as she sat down next to him while Nandini replied, opening her lunchbox....

Nandini : It was good... but the professor speaks so fast..... I couldn't keep up...

Manik chuckled softly and said...

Manik : Don't worry... u will get the hang of it... Its only ur first week....

As they sat on the stairs talking about their day and sharing lunch Nandini noticed something different about Manik....

He was quieter than usual and his eyes lingered on her a little longer than before.... She wasn't sure what it meant but it made her heart race....

There was something in the air between them something unspoken that neither of them knew how to address.....

He continued asking stuffs about college and how does she feels and she replied everything in her usual expressive actions making him admire her....

He had always been protective of Nandini even more so now that they were in college together.... He watched her with a mix of pride and something else something he didn't quite understand yet....

Seeing her grow more confident meeting new people and handling things on her own made him happy.... But it also made him feel a little uneasy.....

There was a pause in the conversation a moment of silence that felt heavy between them..... Nandini glanced up at him and her heart fluttered in her chest.....

Manik was sitting close to her closer than usual.... She could feel the warmth raditing from his body to hers and it made her stomach do flips....

She didn't  know why but lately being around him made her feel different.....

They had always been close always shared everything with each other... But now something had changed....

Every time Manik looked at her she felt her cheeks grow warm..... Every time their hands brushed by accident it sent a spark through her....

She didn't understand it but it was hard to ignore..... Suddenly Manik....
