You stood by the door, frozen for a moment as you listened to the faint muttering on the other side. The voice was low but clear, laced with frustration.
"Ugh, another snobby rich guy with daddy's money, making noise like he owns the place. Unbelievable..."
There was another knock, this one more hesitant, as if the person was considering whether to knock again. You, curious but amused, pulled open the door just before the next knock landed.
Standing on the other side was a girl with striking purple hair tied into a large ponytail on the other. She wore a white crop top with a lavish bomber jacket, and her combat boots scraped slightly on the pristine floor as she shifted her weight. Her confident posture faltered the second your eyes met.
It was Akali, from K/DA.
Her eyes widened as she took in your appearance, a faint blush creeping up her cheeks, but it was clear she didn't recognize you yet. She crossed her arms in a feeble attempt to regain her cool.
"I... uh, didn't mean to bother you," Akali said, her usual fiery attitude mellowing as she glanced up at him. "It's just, the noise... I've been hearing your music blaring, and, well... I couldn't take it anymore."
You blinked, a smile forming on your lips. "Sorry about that. I get carried away when I'm in the studio, and they forgot to put up acoustic panelling. Didn't mean to bother you, ill be buying them soon."
Akali waved it off quickly, her confidence returning a little, though her blush deepened. "Yeah, whatever. Just... try to keep it down. This is Piltover, not Zaun, you know?" She paused for a second, sizing you up, and then added with a bit of a smirk, "Not that you'd know anything about Zaun."
You chuckled, catching her assumption, but deciding not to correct her just yet. Instead, you extended a hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Akali. K/DA, right? I'm a fan, names y/n."
Akali blinked, finally realizing who she was standing in front of. "Wait... you're that guy from the music video that's been blowing up, aren't you? I saw it—everyone's talking about it. And you—" She trailed off, flustered now that she recognized you.
"Yeah, that's me," you said with a grin. "I'm DOOM."
Akali's initial annoyance faded, replaced with surprise and a little shyness. She took your hand and shook it, her previous confidence now slightly shaky. "Right... DOOM. Cool. You were pretty good in that video. And you and evelynn..." she awkwardly does the finger guns and blushes as she trails off.
"Thanks," you said, chuckling, still holding her hand for a second longer before letting go. "Yeah Evelynn is, quite the woman isn't she? And sorry again about the noise. Just working on a new song."
Akali smiled now, her guard dropping as she relaxed. "No worries. Guess I should've expected it, having another musician as a neighbour. And yeah, im sure she will be excited to see you"
