Chapter 1

Alexander was a lonely boy he had no friends and was looked upon as odd however he was only misunderstood. He was sixteen years of age and had spent them all moving back and forward between foster care and relatives. His mother died upon his birth and his father walked out on his mother before Alexander was even born. Alexander had light ashy brown hair and emerald green eyes, his skin was of a fair coral white complexion, he was six and a half feet tall and was considerably good looking however this didn't help on his quest for friends. He often wore an indeferent expression which said "I don't care," or "whatever" but deep down he was hurting and slowly breaking like a pile of bones under pressure. His longing for friendship and the feeling of loneliness melted their way deeper into his heart and soul and with each passing day that went by they drew him closer and closer to a breaking point.

It was July 11 and exactly fourteen days until Alexander's birthday. Today was also the day that Alexander was to move in with his aunt Gretchen. Gretchen was the younger sister of Alexander's deceased mother she was thirty five years of age making her two years younger than Alexander's mother. Gretchen looked ten years older than she really was with her dropping, wrinkled face and fading eyes. She always had a slight smile and was soft spoken. She was also a widow as of three years ago when her drunk husband crashed into a gas station, the explosion could be heard and seen for miles around.

When Alexander arrived at Gretchen's house he stood for a second to observe his new home. The large two story house was an eye rotting shade of deep mustard yellow with an even uglier moss green roof that resembled algae scraped from the bottom of a river. All the windows were either cracked or broken and stained brown with dirt and dust. The sight of this gave Alexander a nauseous feeling and made him gag. As soon as he stepped into the hideous house he was greeted with a big hug
for his aunt Gretchen. Alexander smiled but he felt like he was being thrown under a steamroller due to his aunts excessively thight embrace. Grechen showed him to his room where he dropped himself on the king sized bed and let out a sigh.

He only laid on the bed for a few moments before tears slowly started to run down his face. Alexander just couldn't help himself in his eyes this was just another place for him to get attached to before being forced away again. Every time he moved he always detested his new home at first but would grow to like it eventually. That was usually when he got the news that he was going to be relocated again. As he wiped the tears off of his face he made a promise to himself a promise to not become attached to his new home but rather to hate it.
