As they walked through the park gate the silence was once again broken this time by Alicia.
Alicia: "So am I guess we're am supposed to try to be friends." Her awkward and unsure tone was complimented by the way she nervously stared at her feet. "You know with your aunt and my mother."
Not one word came out of Alexander's mouth.
Alicia: "Am are you okay," she questioned
Alexander: "Am yeh....its just..," he stopped before he could finish.
Alicia: "Just what..,"Alicia asked.
Alexander: "It's just you look really familiar," he said now looking downward towards the grass.
Alicia: "Really i'm sure i've never seen you before," she said with a confused look.
Alexander: "Familiar to a girl I dreamt about...last night," he said in a soft nervous tone.
Alicia: "What..!" she said being surprised, then she caught herself and continued "Hey if this is your way of hitting on me you can forget about it!" she exclaimed with a serious face.
Alexander: "What no it's nothing like that..," he told her sounding sightly startled.
Alicia: "Yeh right," she sarcastically said.
Alexander: "Really I'm telling the truth," he tried explaining.
Alicia: "If you say so," Alicia's sarcasm continued, "look let's just stop talking about this," she added cooling back down to her regular tone, "let's just pretend this never happened and just try to start over."
Alexander nodded his head as Alicia clearly would never believe him. Things were slightly awkward at the beginning for them but as things progressed the two of them saw that they had a lot in common. Eventually they found themselves lost in conversation they hadn't realized how much time had already drifted while talking held them both prisoner. As the sun started going down they were forced to cut things short as Alicia would soon have to leave. They both headed back. After Alicia and her mother left Alexander went up to his room where he sat on his bed and was quickly consumed in thought. As he went deeper into his mind his memories of today and Alicia washed in like waves. Never before had he had a conversation like this with anyone. He was unsure if he could yet call Alicia his friend but he knew they were more than just strangers.
