As Alexander woke up the next morning he rubbed his eyes and proceeded with his regular morning routine. When he claimed down the stairs to get breakfast his heart seamed to skip a beat before stopping all together.
There on the floor in front of him was Gretchen. Her skin was pale and cold and her eyes bloodshot. If not to make thing even more strange and horrid her pink dress was now covered in blood stains and even more gruesome there were strange symbol carved into her very skin. Both her arms and her face were full of them and in her right hand was a blood stained knife. She was unresponsive no matter what Alexander tried from shaking her to dabbing her face with a wet rag. After every attempt of getting her awake had failed he dashed to the outdated wall phone which was on the blue kitchen wall. His fingers started shaking as he dialed 911.Alexander: "Hello there's something wrong with my aunt she's passed out and and!!" he was stopped by the nurse on the other end before finishing his sentence.
Nurse: "Slow down.....now what happened?" she asked.
Alexander explained what happened, that he just went down stairs and found her like that. A short while after he found himself at the hospital waiting to find out what exactly was going on. As he looked down the cold grey hall of the hospital he saw a doctor emerge from his aunt's room and started walking towards him. He stood up as he was approached by the doctor.
Doctor: With a concerned face the doctor started to speak, "It appears that your aunt has suffered a severe heart attack, but we haven't yet determined what caused it."
Alexander: "What how could this happen?" he asked as he grew worried."And what about those markings?" he continued.
Doctor: "We have reason to believe that she did this to herself."
Alexander responded with a confused face.
Doctor: "Didn't you say you found her with a knife in her hand..."
Alexander: "Yes but...," he interrupted
Doctor: "Look were going to have to get her mentally examined....there's no other explanation for this, you should go home there's no reason you should stay here,"
Alexander: "Could I at least see her first," he asked.
Doctor: "I don't see why not,"
Upon walking into the room he saw Gretchen on a hospital bed, hocked up to life support. She was still unconscious but at least her skin had returned to its normal tone. The symbols on her body were now scabbed over and black they were hideous and horrid and they gave her a ghastly appearance which made Alexander turn his head away as it would have been hard to watch. Despite this his curiosity could not be helped, he took pictures of the illegible marking with his smartphone and proceed to leave the room while still in a state of confusion and disbelief. He came to the conclusion that there was nothing more he could do other than to leave so he did and headed home.
