Things You Gotta Deal With...

I was too distraught to go to the mall so I went and sat in my car and cried for a good thirty minutes. Seeing my poor baby afraid of me is something I never wanted. He didn't deserve what I did to him. He was so sweet and innocent. I hurt him and for what, Jamel? How could I? I wiped my tears and tried to not sulk so that Jamel or Jameela wouldn't notice. I quickly wiped my eyes and tried to perk up. I saw Jameela walk out with a few of her co-workers. Looking in mirror making sure my eyes weren't puffy. They were, so I just put my glasses on to at least to cover so of the puffiness. I hit the lock as I watched her approach. She hopped in.

"Hey Pooh! Can we stop by Target before heading to the house. I need to pick up some stuff." Jameela asked as she buckled her seatbelt.

"Yeah sure! It will give me enough time to wander around the baby section and pick some stuff up for Jazzy!"

"Yeah we should get her a couple cases of diapers and some onesies. The rest we'll get at the baby shower."

"Girl who tf coming to my baby shower? Y'all family barely know me and y'all mama can't stand me. I only talk to my cousin and dad in my family. Hell I don't have friends besides you and your brother. Lil Jazzy ain't gone know nobody besides us." I sulked a little bit as I cranked the car up and headed towards Target.

"Damn Ro, you might be right. How about I ask my grandma to throw a Sunday dinner and we all go over there and you can meet the family then? Plus my mama lowkey scared of our Granny so she won't start anything over there. Plus she doesn't play with Jamel either so he won't mess with you over there neither. Ro you're not that bad of a person. You're really chill and sweet. My brother has messed up your life so bad. He's an idiot. Ugh."

"So I see you've been affected by the Aiden Bug! My sweet baby must've worked his charm!"

"He's such a sweet kid! He had me cracking up the whole time we were together! I wish my brother wasn't an ass and actually accepted him." She rolled her eyes. I wanted so badly to tell her the full story. She'd probably hate Jamel for sure. All she thought/knew is that Lawrence got custody because I moved on to Jamel. She thinks that Jamel didn't accept Aiden because he was respecting Lawrence's wishes and didn't want drama between us. He told his whole family that lie. Now everybody think I chose a man over my kid when we all know the truth.

We finally arrived at Target. We walked around randomly until we made it to the baby section. I headed straight to the girl section.

"Well if ain't the scariest bitch on Earth! How the fuck are you Romina?"

I turned around and came face to face with Nafessa and two bright skinned girls. I gave her a quick look up and down noticing her bump. I released the breath I was holding. Seeing that she was pregnant I knew it wouldn't go too far between us. The two girls with her didn't seem phased by me.

"Scary? Never that! I haven't been hard to find guess you wasn't looking hard enough!" I shrugged my shoulders. I turned back around and kept shopping.

"Bitch don't try and be cute. I should knock your fucking brain loose. The way you played in my nephew and brother's face!" I turned back around.

"Girl I ain't worried about you knocking shit loose. You and I both know we can't fight in our condition.

"Bitch please your head ain't pregnant and I can easily fuck you up!" By this time Jameela had made her way over to me.

"Is there a problem? Ro who is this?" Jameela asked as she sized the three women up. My first reaction was to protect Jameela and my daughter so I placed her slightly behind me before I answered.

"This is Lawrence's sister/Aiden's aunt." I said not acknowledging the women with her because I honestly didn't know them.

"Oh ok! I thought it was a problem." She said with a little too much sass. Which the girl who was with Nafessa picked up on.
