Alex collapsed onto the hotel couch, feeling emotionally drained. The breakup with his girlfriend had been brutal, and although their relationship had been falling apart for a while, the intensity of the past few days had left him utterly exhausted. Just as he was losing himself in his thoughts, George burst into the room, his face lit up with that familiar mischievous grin.

"Mate, you're not staying in here to sulk. We're going out tonight," George announced as if there was no other option. "You need to get your mind off things."

Alex sighed. He wasn't in the mood for a night out, but George had a way of convincing people, and maybe he was right. A Saturday night before a rest day, what harm could it do?

"Alright, fine," Alex relented, getting up. "But nothing too crazy."

A few hours later, the two of them were deep into the night at an upscale bar, surrounded by music, laughter, and drinks. George was in high spirits, perhaps a little too much, ordering shots without a care in the world.

"Seriously, mate, you're so much better off without her!" George exclaimed, his British accent becoming more pronounced with each drink. "You're young, talented, and you've got the whole world ahead of you!"

Alex nodded, though he wasn't entirely convinced. Yet, he couldn't help but smile. George had this infectious energy that made problems seem smaller. Every time Alex spent time with him, he felt lighter, freer.

The night progressed, and the drinks kept coming. Alex, who normally knew his limits, felt more and more uninhibited. George laughed at every joke, his eyes glinting with a certain warmth, a closeness that Alex hadn't noticed before. Or maybe he had, but never allowed himself to acknowledge it. At some point, their eyes locked, holding just a little too long. Alex felt a spark.

"You know what?" George murmured, leaning in slightly, his voice softer now. "I'm really glad it's you here with me tonight."

Alex didn't respond immediately, but his heart raced. He found himself studying George's features, noticing the closeness between them in a way he hadn't before. Or maybe he always had, but had pushed it aside.

"Me too, George," Alex whispered, barely audible.

Minutes passed, conversations blurred, and their movements became more careless. Before they realized it, they were outside, the cold air biting through their intoxicated haze.

"Come on," George said, tugging Alex's arm toward the hotel. "We're not done yet."

They stumbled back to George's hotel room, laughing as they swayed with each step. Inside, the atmosphere shifted, quieter, heavier. Alex fell onto the bed, his head spinning not just from the alcohol but from something else. Something about George's presence felt magnetic, unavoidable.

"You realize, right?" George said with a low chuckle, standing above Alex, his gaze intense. "This is probably a bad idea... but..."

Before Alex could reply, George leaned in and kissed him.

At first, Alex was stunned. But the electricity between them was undeniable. It was unexpected, and yet, somehow, it felt inevitable, a tension that had been building for far too long. He kissed George back, with a passion he hadn't felt in a long time.

Clothes were discarded, movements became urgent. Everything blurred, the world outside fading away. It wasn't about the breakup, or racing, or the pressures of their lives. It was just them

Morning came far too quickly, sunlight seeping through the drawn hotel curtains. Alex opened his eyes, his head heavy and clouded, still full of the previous night's excesses. A faint headache throbbed, a painful reminder of the many drinks he had shared with George. It took him a moment to orient himself, but the familiar weight of the body lying next to him grounded him in reality.

George was there, asleep, his hair tousled, his breathing steady. The scene was oddly peaceful, almost surreal, in stark contrast to the chaos of the night before. Alex slowly sat up, careful not to wake him, though his own mind was still spinning, grappling with the shock of what had just happened.
