Advik remained crouched by Shivani's side for a few moments, the weight of the situation pressing down on him.

Watching her fight against her exhaustion, seeing her struggle to even stand, it hit him harder than he expected. She wasn't just slacking off or neglecting her responsibilities - she was completely drained.

As he stood up, his mind was racing with guilt. How could he have been so blind? His strictness during training, the way he'd scolded her earlier - it all seemed so harsh now. He didn't know what was happening with her outside of training, but seeing her like this, he realized something was seriously wrong.

He stepped back from her and quietly left the room, closing the door softly behind him. Once outside, he pulled out his phone and dialed Siya's number.

"Advik sir? Sab theek hai?" Siya's voice came through, concerned.

"Siya, tumhe pata hai Shivani ka kya chal raha hai? She's completely out of it, like she hasn't rested in days," Advik asked, his tone serious.

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Siya responded, sounding just as concerned. "Advik, I've been trying to meet her since yesterday morning, but I'm caught up with OPD duties and emergencies. Kuch toh off lag raha hai with her too, but I haven't been able to check on her."

Advik rubbed his forehead, frustration building. "She hasn't shown up for training. Main uske room mein gaya, and she's completely exhausted. It's like she's been pushing herself too hard."

"Yeh toh expected tha... uska emergency duty all night thi," Siya replied. "She had back-to-back shifts, and knowing her, she's probably been overworking herself."

Advik closed his eyes, guilt rising again. "Mujhe yeh pehle samajhna chahiye tha... I was too harsh during training."

"Sir aapke rules aur expectations alag nahi hain. But maybe... this time, it's not just about training," Siya said, her voice soft yet understanding.

"I know," Advik replied, his voice heavy. "I need to figure out how to handle this."

After ending the call, Advik found himself standing in the hallway, thinking about how to move forward. He needed to address this, but there was no easy solution. She was a cadet under his command, and it wasn't his place to get involved beyond a certain point. But he couldn't shake the feeling that this situation required more than just formal discipline.

The next morning, Shivani didn't show up for training again. Advik stood at the field, his eyes scanning the cadets, but she was noticeably absent. His gut twisted with concern, knowing now that it wasn't because she was slacking off or trying to avoid responsibilities - she was burnt out.

As the day progressed, he found himself waiting for some sign that she was okay, but nothing came. Finally, unable to hold back any longer, he checked with the training staff. Shivani had officially taken a medical leave.

The reality of the situation hit him like a punch. She wasn't just tired - she was unwell. He had been pushing her without knowing the full extent of what she was going through.

Later, as he stood alone in his office, the silence around him felt deafening. The guilt weighed heavily, and for the first time in a long while, Advik felt the sting of regret.
