As the cold winds blew stronger each day, Winston kept his promise, bringing supplies to make their small, cozy cottage more comfortable. He arrived with armfuls of thick, woven blankets, finely made clothing, and even some food to help Kyzzu regain his strength.
Kyzzu, now embracing the role of a parent, spent most of his time nursing Kazi, his delicate form becoming more familiar with the rhythm of this new life.
The child's features had softened in the days since his birth. His smooth skin had taken on a gentle glow, and his eyes sparkled with a quiet curiosity even when he was still.
Every day, Kyzzu marveled at how beautiful and serene Kazi looked as he slept soundly in his arms, the child's dark hair contrasting with his pale blanket.
Kyzzu, though adjusting to parenthood, had also changed physically. His body had grown softer and plumper with time, a reflection of the nurturing life he now led. His hips had rounded out, and his mounds, which he used to feed Kazi, had grown more tender.
There were moments, especially during the colder nights, when Kyzzu would wrap Kazi in one of the blankets Winston had brought, watching the baby peacefully doze as the fire crackled nearby.
Despite the calm, Kyzzu couldn't shake the thoughts that filled his mind whenever Winston came around. There was an undeniable tension between them, and Kyzzu often found himself looking forward to Winston's visits more than he wanted to admit.
The two had developed a strange bond, again, one that was layered with unspoken emotions and lingering glances.
One Evening, when Amani had gone to tend to the crops in a nearby field, Kyzzu found himself alone with Kazi. The baby slept soundly, nestled in a bundle of warm blankets. Kyzzu sat quietly by the fire, lost in thought when Winston appeared at the door.
As always, Winston entered the cottage with an air of calm confidence. He set down a few more supplies he had brought and sat next to Kyzzu, their conversation drifting from the weather to Kazi's progress.
Winston gazed at the sleeping child with a look of quiet satisfaction, but his attention soon returned to Kyzzu.
Kyzzu's heart pounded as Winston's eyes lingered on him. Before he could process what was happening, Winston leaned in and kissed him-soft at first, then deeper, as if testing the waters of a feeling that had been building between them for some time. Kyzzu, caught off guard, responded instinctively, melting into the kiss.
When they finally broke apart, Kyzzu's cheeks were flushed, his breaths uneven. He was overwhelmed by the moment, by the closeness that had suddenly blossomed between them.
Winston's eyes scanned his face before his gaze dropped, taking in Kyzzu's changed form. Kyzzu's body, now fuller and feminine in its curves, seemed to draw a hint of slight dissatisfaction from Winston's expression, but it passed quickly.
Without a word, Winston pulled Kyzzu closer, their bodies pressing together in the warm glow of the firelight. Kyzzu felt a mix of confusion and longing, unsure of what this connection meant for them but unable to resist the pull that Winston exerted over him.
The warmth of the fire faded as Winston abruptly stepped back, breaking the lingering connection between him and Kyzzu. His expression, once intense with unspoken emotions, shifted back to its usual guarded calm. Without a word, he adjusted his coat, his eyes briefly flickering over Kyzzu before turning toward the door.
Kyzzu stood there, dumbfounded, his lips still tingling from the kiss.
His heart raced as he watched Winston, confusion and an ache of longing swirling within him. He wanted to speak, to ask Winston what this meant-what they meant-but no words came. Winston, as composed as ever, simply nodded slightly before exiting the small cottage, leaving Kyzzu standing in the dim light, feeling the weight of their strange connection more than ever.
