starting the interview

The room was dim, the blinds covering the bright sunlight outside. Protecting the vampire in the large penthouse living room overlooking the city of Dubai. Daniel Molloy sat across from Louis, a recorder between them.

Louis leaned back in his chair, his expression impassive. The interviews had just started a couple of days ago, he intended to be completely truthful now. Peeling back layers of his history that seemed endless. Today, however, Daniel had a different angle in mind.

Daniel cleared his throat, eyeing his notes. "There's something I haven't asked you about, someone actually. A name that comes up occasionally in your early human recollections—Estelle de la Fosse."

Louis's eyes flickered briefly, the faintest glimmer of surprise in their depths. He folded his hands in his lap, considering his response.

"You have done your homework," Louis said softly, his voice carrying a hint of nostalgia. "Estelle... she was a part of our story, mine and Lestat's, though not one I've spoken of often. But she is an important figure."

Daniel leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. "Who was she?"

Louis took a deep breath, his gaze turning inward, sifting through memories long buried. "Estelle de la Fosse was many things—a muse, a lover, a force of nature. She was always a part of my life. I've known her since I was a child. She was a very talented woman with a passion for the arts and a darkness in her soul that both drew and terrified us. Lestat and I... we were captivated by her. She was different from others we've ever encountered—she understood us in a way that few mortals could. I had always loved her."

He paused, the corners of his mouth turning up in a faint, melancholic smile. "She was our partner, our equal. For a time, we were a trinity. She brought out the best and the worst in both of us. With Estelle, it was as if we were more alive, more vibrant... and yet, inevitably, it couldn't last."

Daniel's brow furrowed. "What happened to her? Is she dead?"

"No. She's not dead. She chose another path," Louis said quietly. "In time, she sought something beyond the existence we offered, the blood and the darkness. Too much had happened. She walked away from us after.. We let her go.. We had to. But she didn't fade into obscurity. Estelle has always had a talent for reinvention. She was never content to remain in the shadows."

Daniel glanced at his notes again, writing this down. "And now, where is she?"

Louis chuckled softly, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Daniel furrowed his eyebrows,

"Who is she?" Louis looked up to Daniel, the most serious he's ever looked so far. "She's a famous singer now."

Daniel looked confused before scrippibling more words down on apiece of paper and paused to wait for Louis to answer. I was silent for a couple of moments before he spoke up again,

"Doja cat. That's her stage name."

It was quiet again while Daniel processed the words that just came out of Louis' mouth. If you listened carefully Louis' voice was covered with both amusement and a touch of sadness.

"What?!" Daniel was perplexed now, where were they thinking about the same person?

"Doja cat?" Louis nodded, "Moo? Bitch, I'm a Cow" Doja cat?" Louis nodded again. "You know who she is?"

"Yeah an intern of mine showed me.." Daniel trailed off. He looked at Louis one more time for confirmation, "Grammy award winning Doja cat?"

"That's the one." Daniel took a second to cover his mouth with his hand, still shocked. A hint of disbelief in his eyes.

"Wow" was the only thing that came out of Daniel after another pause.

"That is what she goes by now, professionally. Estelle has taken many names, worn many faces over the centuries. She found her way into the modern world as a pop star, embracing the culture, the fame, the light. She always had a flair for the dramatic, and this role suits her well."

"Does she still...?"

"Drink blood?" Louis finished for him, his expression darkening slightly. "I cannot say. Estelle is nothing if not unpredictable. She has mastered the art of being what the world needs her to be, and if that means playing the part of a mortal pop icon, then that is what she will do. Whether she still walks in the same darkness as I... that is a question only she can answer."

Daniel sat back, absorbing this new revelation. "Do you ever see her anymore? Speak to her?"

Louis's gaze grew distant, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Not anymore. Our paths havent crossed in a while. She is not the Estelle I once knew. Just as I am not the Louis she once loved. We are different now, shaped by the world and our choices. But the memory of what we were... that lingers."

The room fell silent, the weight of what was just said was in the air.

"And you are just going to expose her to the world?" Daniel asked one final question. Louis looked lost in thought for a second before he recovered.

"Unfortunately yes. If I am going to be revealing my whole truth her existence is apart of that story, Mr. Molloy."

Daniel clicked off the recorder, his mind racing with the implications of what he'd just heard. There was always more to the story, he was expecting something big but not something like this. One of the most famous singers of the decade is a vampire. And now, with the enigmatic figure of Estelle de la Fosse, the tale of the throuple had become even more intricate and haunting.
