~The Wheeler's House~
A week, a week since Jake has got into bed and not gotten out.
A supportive boyfriend who tries not to be visibly hurt by this has been next to him all weekend. Devon. Devon has been by his side nonstop and Lexy and Grant come visit, of course with Agent Hicks.
"Hey babe, Annie cooked breakfast, I got you some fruit and took your plate from last nights' dinner downstairs. My mom wants me back home by 4, because I've missed too much weekend homework, but I'll come back right after school tomorrow." Devon says placing on a kiss on Jake's cheek.
"Why do you still love me?" Jake says with his back still turned against the door in the bed furthest from the door and hoodie on.
"Because, I just do." "The Jake you fell in love with is gone." "No he isn't, I'm staring at him and he looks pretty damn hot." Devon kisses him on the lips. "I love you." "I love you more." "That's not possible. Jake, as much as I love you, you need a bath."
"I know, I'm sorry. I haven't had the energy." "Hey, it's okay." Devon says cupping his face. "Here get up. I'll give you one.
After dragging Jake out of bed. Devon takes him to the bathroom and fills up the tub with water and soap and undresses Jake. Jake gets in and just lays there with his knees to his chest and head in the wall to the left of him.
Devon finally finishes and helps Jake to bed, he dries him off and dresses him. After that he lays him into bed, Jake just lays there. "I'm finished." Devon says breathlessly with pride. "How do you feel?" "Numb. I feel over-fucking medicated." Jake says back into his position of facing away from the door. "Remember when you were 14? You weren't even talking to anyone, except me." "Don't remind me." Jake says madly.
A quick knock is placed at the door and Bree and Logan walks in. "Hey Devon, would you mind giving us a second?" Logan asks. "Sure!" Devon walks and waits in the hallway.
"Sorry, about the mess. I haven't felt like cleaning. I'm sorry." Jake says sitting up in the bed, he hasn't done that in a week. "It's fine, and don't apologize so much." Bree says climbing into bed and hugging him.
"I'm sorry."
"Well, we just got a letter from the school, if you don't come back tomorrow, we have to appear for truancy court and you'll be expelled. You have to go tomorrow."
Logan says sitting on the edge of his bed.
"What? I'm not ready to go back! Bree
please?" Jake begs to Bree with tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry." Jake slumps down with defeat. "Ms.Fairchild came by last night, she said you missed a bunch. You have to." Bree says.
"Get the hell out." Jake whispers "What did you say honey?" "Get the fuck out! Go!" Jake pushes Bree out the bed, he gets out of the bed after a week of laying, and runs the couple out the room and Devon runs in.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Devon asks "They want me to go back to school tomorrow! I-I'm not ready." Jake says and starts having a anxiety attack and sits down. "Hey look at me, look at me Jake! It's okay, Lexy,Grant, or I will be with you every single class. I swear." Devon kisses Jake and crawls into bed with him and spoons Jake as he cries.
~The Crosses' House~
"No shit!" Lexy yells as she jumps out of her cuddling position with Grant. "What now?" "Devon texted, Jake has to go back to school tomorrow. Oliver's going to be happy." She says sarcastically. "He needs it, he hasn't left the house in a week babe." "I know, but he's not ready. He still feels guilty." Lexy says, but quickly shutting up after remembering Grant still doesn't know.
"What the hell are you three keeping from me? Why does he feel so damn guilty?" Grants asks with pleading eyes. "It's Jake's story to tell." Agent Hicks walks in. "Grant, your mom needs you back, you have school." "Bye Lex." Grant kisses Lexy and leaves.
"Bye G!" Caroline yells happily and runs at Grant and he picks her up
for a hug. "Bye C." Grant says hugging her back and placing her down. "Bye Mrs.Michelle, Mr. Nathan." Grant says and walks out into the black SUV.
