Alysanne looked at Aegon in a mixture of disbelief and horror

Alysanne looked at Aegon in a mixture of disbelief and horror. She swatted his arm away, reaching for Cedric. It was rude of Aegon to step between Lord Dayne and herself.

"Ouch!" He cried. "You've hit me."

"You're rude!" She whispered back, brows furrowed.

"Forgive me, Lord Dayne." Aegon said with a sly smirk. "I did not expect mine own kin to be here. Would you mind terribly allowing her to sit with me?"

"Of course!" Cedric glanced at Alysanne's unhappy face. "If it pleases the princess."

"And what if it pleases the prince?" Aegon laughed, swishing his cup around in his left hand.

"Aegon!" She snapped again. She placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "Tis alright, Cedric. My uncle means no harm."

"But of course!" Cedric tried to be jovial after Aegon's slight. At least the princess had tried to correct it, she'd shown grace and looked down on Aegon's incorrect behavior. After all, he'd only heard kind rumors about Princess Alysanne and nasty, depraved rumors of prince Aegon.

Cedric turned away from them, as Alysanne dug her fingernails into Aegon's shoulder. He winced but walked forward and pretended all was well.

"That was unnecessary." She declared, sitting herself at the end of the large wooden table. It seemed very few people had fluttered in. No Lord or Lady Dayne, a few guests from both Beesburys list and the Dayne's.

"It was necessary. How else would I get you to sit by me?"

"You wouldn't. Why are you even here?"

"Aemond was supposed to come." He smirked at her discomfort at his brother's name. "But mother decided he'd be too likely to murder you in your sleep. Something something political, something headache."

"Speaking of. I can see you don't allow your mother to dress you anymore." She scoffed, looking at his black and gold tunic instead of the absurd green Queen Alicent had always placed her children in. "Green washes you out, I'm afraid."

"Afraid of what? Don't be afraid." He laughed, reaching for his cup. She was quicker and pulled it from his reach, preventing him from drowning too many cups. "Don't you know? I'm a family man now."

"I know. Helaena writes often." She glared at him.

Truthfully, she wanted to smack Aegon for how he treated Helaena. Each day he embarrassed and debased her for some charlatan on the street performing lewd acts. Each day he failed to perform his duty as a prince, and especially as a father, leaving little Jaehaera and Jaehaerys alone. Now he'd gotten Helaena with child once more, and she was due in four moons.

She didn't want to be sitting by Aegon. There was a reason they'd stopped speaking, why she stopped visiting the keep and why he refused to fly Sunfyre to Dragonstone.
