Hope Floats

The next day, I didn't want to get up for school. I finally gain the will power to dragging myself out of bed. I did all the things I do in the morning. I got dressed and decide to wear black skinny jeans, a pink "i'm so awesome" tee, Vans Neon fluorescent pink lace up sneakers, and my reversible pink spatter hoodie. I leasurly took my time going downstairs, only to find Kayla sitting at the table eating cereal.

"Good morning, sweety." my mom says while scrambling eggs at the stove.

"Morning, Hey Kayla, I thought I was going to pick you up at your houses?"  I asked while taking out Lucky Charms cereal.

"Umn yeah, but i decided to go to your house for a change. You know, save you some gas."

"Umm ok, well, you ready to go then?"

"yeah."

Both of us got up, put our bowls into the sink, and headed to my car.

we got in and drove to school. I  headed to my  locker only to find the boy standing there.

"What do you want?" I asked so annoyed.

"Well, I just wanted to say sorry for yesterday." he says looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes. "We got off on the wrong foot, so I came to ask you if we can start over?" he continues. "My name is Jake." he says holding out his hand for me to shake.

"Rachel." I said taking his hand.

"So, are we cool?" he asks still holding my hand.

Noticing that my hand is still in his, I quickly let go while saying," Yeah, we're cool."

"Cool. See you at lunch." he says smilling and walks off.

"WOW!" Kayla says all shocked. "What was that about?"

"I have no idea, but apperently we're cool, i guess." I said walking to greet Kristal and Sarah.

The first few classed flew by really fast. Then it was time for lunch. I walked to my locker to get my wallet out and I find Jake standing there. I came up and he gave me a hug which a question mark on my face.

"Uh what was that for?" I asked still shocked.

"just wanted to give my friend a hug that's all."

"Oh, ok, well thanks." I said still a little shocked. 

I  finally got mt lunch with only twenty minutes to spare. I sat down with Jake sitting right next to me, and I  scarfed my  lunch down not even caring how hot it was and ended up burned my mouth. 

I got up from the table and start walking to the trash can when Kimberly got in my  way.

"Yes Kimberly, how can i help you?" I asked not suprised that she is standing there.

"Oh nothing, I just wanted to say that the boy sitting next you, and staring right at you at this moment, is really hot."

"Umm, thanks?..I think?"

" Your welcome. Just wanted you to know, that's all." she says walking away.

After lunch the second half of school flew by really fast, and the next thing I noticed is Jake leaning against my  truck.

"Umm, may i help you Jake?" I asked a little confused.

"Yeah, you can, i was looking for the owner of this really nice truck. Do you think you can help me find her, see if she can go out on a date, lets say tonight, with me. I'll pay and I'll have her home by 10:00?" Do you think that would be no hassle for you?"

" I think that the owner of this truck would love to go out on a date with you. That is only if she could get to her truck, that is?"

"Well, then it's a date. Pick you up at 6:30?"

"Ok then, I will be ready by then."

He walks off with a huge grin on his face and I  go t in my  truck and drove off... really excited about tonight.
