Dd pushed open the front doors of the school, the usual mix of chatter and chaos flooding his ears. Same building, same faces. Dd hadn't really checked his schedule yet. It wasn't like it mattered anyway. School was just another thing to deal with.

As he walked down the hall, he noticed some of his homeboys. He dap'd him up here and there, and girls were already throwing looks his way. He just smirked and kept it moving. He wasn't here for that.

First period was about to start, so he got his schedule out of his pocket. He glanced at it real quick, eyes scanning over the details.

English, Room 214.

He made his way to class, AirPods in, Sorry Not Sorry by Lil Yachty and Veeze playing. He was almost at the door when he noticed her walking in front of him.

Imani. The same girl he'd bumped into yesterday.

He smirked to himself, remembering how she'd snapped at him in the hallway. A little fire in her, huh? He could respect that. But it was still funny how she tried to come at him like that. He wasn't one to let stuff slide easily, though.

She didn't seem to notice him as they both walked into the classroom, but when she picked a seat near the back, he sat in the one right next to her. He could feel her tension immediately.

She glanced at him, rolling her eyes, and turned away.

Dd laughed low with amusement. "You aint followin me is you?"

Imani scoffed. "Why would I follow you? This is my class too."

David leaned back in his chair, hands in his sweats. "Lucky me then." Dd said sarcastically.

Before she could respond, the teacher started class. But Dd couldn't shake the feeling that this year was gonna have a whole different feeling.

The morning dragged on, and Dd was barely paying attention. His mind kept going back to the way Imani had reacted to him sitting next to her. She was tight about it, and he found it lowkey funny. Still, he wasn't about to waste energy on her right now.
