𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 11𝐭𝐡, 2024The classroom was buzzing with chatter as students discussed their plans for the weekend. Imani, however, was lost in her thoughts, still reeling from Dd's unexpected FaceTime call. His sudden appearance and the way he managed to get under her skin had left her feeling flustered.
"Yo, wassup wit you today?" Jade asked, sliding into the seat next to her. "You seem off."
Lena, sitting beside Jade, gave Imani a supportive glance. Imani forced a smile. "Yeah, just tired. That's all."
Just then, Dd walked into the classroom, his presence immediately drawing attention. He had a casual confidence about him today, which seemed to irritate Imani even more. He caught her eye as he made his way to his seat, but she quickly looked away, pretending to focus on her phone.
Dd took his seat and smirked, clearly noticing Imani's attempt to ignore him. He leaned back and called over, "What you doin here?"
Imani barely looked up. "Nigga this my class" she said bluntly and deadpanning.
Jade and Lena exchanged glances, sensing the tension. Jade, eager to stir things up. "Dd you got any plans after school?"
Dd shrugged, a mischievous grin on his face. "Might hang out with Ddot and Notti. Why?"
Jade nudged Imani playfully. "Maybe you should come too, keep him on his toes."
Dd's eyes locked onto Imani's. "You should come slide."
Imani raised an eyebrow, trying to hide a smirk. "Not sure why you think I'd wanna hang out with you."
David leaned in slightly, his voice low. "Why you trynna act like youn want to?" he said teasingly
Imani's irritation was palpable, but she chose not to engage further. The bell rang, signaling the end of the period, and students started packing up for their next class.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 11𝐭𝐡, 2024The rest of the day flew by for Dd. He was still thinking about Imani's reaction, but he had other things on his mind as well. His phone buzzed with a text from his girlfriend, Amara. They'd had a tense argument the night before, and David had been distracted during his call with Imani.
He quickly replied to Amara, promising to call her later, and turned his focus back to his friends, Ddot and Notti, who were waiting by the lockers.
Notti raised an eyebrow. "So you feelin Imani? You really got somethin planned?"
Dd shrugged. "Maybe. Depends on ha mood. She seemed kinda off today."
Ddot chuckled. "She hard to read. But you gettin to her fasho."
Dd smirked. "That's the point."
As they left school, Dd kept an eye out for Imani, hoping she'd show up. The day had passed quickly, and he was eager to see if he could get another reaction out of her.

Dd and his friends met up as planned, grabbing some food and hanging out in the park. They joked around and enjoyed each other's company. Dd's thoughts occasionally drifted back to Imani, but he tried to stay focused on the night ahead.
Notti and Ddot kept up their usual banter, teasing Dd about his "interest" in Imani. Dd played it cool, not revealing too much but clearly enjoying the attention.
When Dd's phone buzzed with a text from Amara, he glanced at it and felt a pang of guilt. They had agreed to meet up, but Dd was distracted by the ongoing tension with Imani. As the night wore on, he struggled to keep his focus on his friends while dealing with the unresolved issues with Amara.
