Hello Mrs. Lambert,
My name is Patricia Andrews, and I am a science teacher at Ignatius L. Donnelly Middle School, and I'm contacting you today to express concern about your daughter, Holly Lambert. While she has been performing well academically, it is her attitude which is the problem. To be frank with you, Mrs. Lambert, she has absolutely no interest in the subject I teach, to the point where she acts as if everything is beneath her, and gives me absolutely no respect. I have refrained from sending her to the principal's office because I can see that she has potential, and Mr. Addison has spoken to me of her particular gift for mathematics, but her disrespectful attitude is something I can no longer tolerate. If there is another outburst from her, I will send her to the principal's office.
I have found in the past that students acting out are often doing so because of something missing in the home, and I gather, having seen only one name on the information forms, that Mr. Lambert is no longer in the picture, for whatever reason. I won't ask for details, but a father figure is, scientifically speaking, important to any child's life. While I am sure you have done your best, I worry about what this is doing to Holly.
Sincerely,
Patricia Andrews
