She was sleeping beneath the dark tree,
Where prevailed the tremendous beauty of silence.
She neither protested nor desired explanations,
She could envisage the sheer ivory clouds awning the dancing stars.

She was again jolted awake,
The terrible nightmare
Flames of blames, mistakes, disloyalty, misfortune, failures.
The moonlight consoled her in the dark despondent place.

She knew she was rejected everywhere
She wondered,
How can life be so unfair?
Those who care the most
Love the most
Understand the most
Are always misperceived,
Are always backstabbed,
Are always the victim!

Soft snowflakes pouring down,
Covering the grimy forest grounds.
She looked smitten, ugly and gloomy.
She wanted to scream and cry out loud.

But something was stopping her from inside,
Someone was shouting from afar.
"It's Okay
Don't lose hope, don't be afraid
Sometimes it's better to be silent"

She was holding back her tears,
Smiling a beautiful smile.
She edged nearer to the frozen lake.
There was a dull reflection of a very ordinary but pretty soul.
She closed her eyes and then scanned the moon and smiled slowly,
Knowing she was a warrior,
Who was brave and valiant.
The strength she held could shake the bloodthirsty clan.

And people still question her
Why do you simply peer at the moon and smile?
Why do you so obsessed with it?
She replies it with - The moon gives me peace
Like no one else did.

Its far away from me, I can't touch it.
Yet it's light calms me in a different way.
Imagining it's mine and no one else's
Hits different.

In the night sky, full of stars
