The group of kids ran through the woods. Athena stayed at the back of them to make sure none of them fell behind and she couldn't stop herself from checking over her shoulder every few seconds incase they were being followed. This was not how she expected the day to play out.

"Clarke, come on!" Athena shouted, skidding to a stop so she could wrap her arm around her and pull her forward.

Finn ended up beside her, both of them laughing quietly when they made eye contact from how ridiculous this all was. That was until she heard the familiar sound of a body hitting the floor and looked up to find Monty sprawled out with Octavia next to him.

"Monty, hey, get up." Finn said and tried lifting him off the ground.

"We got to go, guys." Athena stressed and glanced behind her again.

They all followed his line of sight when he didn't answer and jumped back from shock at what it was. There was an old ribcage protruding from the floor with a skull right beside it and few bones scattered around. Athena wanted to gag when Clarke grabbed the skull.

"Who are they?" Finn asked.

"What are they?" Clarke asked instead and turned the skull around for them to see. It was nothing like what they were taught on The Ark. Athena didn't really know how to describe what they saw, all she knew was that it wasn't natural.

"We are so screwed." Octavia sighed.

She went to tell them they needed to go again, but a scream cut through the air and made them all look back at the way they came. "Jasper."

"Jasper!" Clarke said louder, eyes blown wide. "He's still alive."

Athena wasn't stupid, she could tell from the way Clarke had positioned herself after hearing it that she was about to take off back towards the boy. So, she let out a loud sigh and sent the blonde girl a subtle nod when they made eye contact. Athena ran right after Clarke, catching the group off guard as they tried to grab onto them.

"Clarke!" Finn shouted after them.

"Athena, get back here!" Octavia shouted but still ran after them.

"Wait, wait. Stay out of the trees." Finn quickly grabbed Clarke and pulled her back while Octavia did the same with Athena. "He was right there."

"Where is he?" Monty asked.

"They took him." Clarke told them.

Athena glanced at all of them. She knew by the looks on their faces that they wanted to go searching for him. She understood, of course she wanted to find Jasper, but it wasn't realistic until they had more help.

"Look, we have to get back to camp." She sighed and tried to push them forward.

"We have to find him." Clarke bit back.

"And we will." Athena told her, gently grabbing her hand so she'd look at her. "But we need more help first, okay? We're no good to him if we're also caught."

"She's right, Clarke." Monty nodded.

The confirmation from him was all it took for Clarke to sigh with a small nod of her head. If his best friend was ready to leave and get help then she had to be also. Clarke slowly stood up and squeezed the hand in hers before dropping it and starting their trek back to camp.

They moved quickly this time. They didn't stop to take in their surroundings or make small talk that'd have them going off track and breaking into laughter every few minutes. Instead, Athena pushed them forward to make them move quicker while Clarke held the map in her hands and guided them the right way.
