Count The Stars (Stars pt. 3, End) / TW

I decided to make an alternate ending, and this will also be in the same POV and format as Our Place. This will be the final part to Stars.

I couldn't concentrate on the lesson as the teacher droned on about whatever we were meant to be learning that day. Something just felt wrong. I couldn't get rid of the tight feeling of worry in my chest. Something wasn't right, but I had know clue what it was.

I raised my hand and asked to go to my locker. I needed to clear my mind. When I opened the locker, I saw it. Curiosity made me read it, and I hoped I wasn't too late. I couldn't be too late.

But I was.

I ran to the place I knew you'd be, our place which I could never forget. The overgrown bridge over the small stream at a park nobody really goes to.

Among the many flowers and leaves, I see you. You lay on that bridge in a pool of your own blood, which flows into the stream below and dyes the water scarlet. I wish my eyes were deceiving me.

This is my fault. I should have showed you how much I cared. I should have noticed something. I should have been there for you.

I call 911, though I know it's far too late to save you. I'm far too late. You never knew that you were my sun, my brightest star of all. It's my fault for not showing you.

Now, every night I go to our place for a while. I sit there, replaying the memories we made in that spot, on that overgrown bridge over that little stream that was once so horribly stained with your blood. When it gets dark, I lay down in the clearing nearby and I count the stars, wondering which one is you.

And with that, Stars comes to an end 🥲

I really hope this was a good ending. I started to tear up on the last paragraph 😭

As always, don't be afraid to give requests! I will do sad stuff like Stars, I can attempt to write angst, and I can write fluff as well.

I honestly might just make this a regular oneshot book rather than everything being note/letter format, because writing pt. 2 and 3 of stars was really fun. However, it's completely up to you guys whether I keep this as a note/letter book or turn it into a regular oneshot book.
