There was no response, no words of acknowledgment. Chifuyu merely stared back with those red eyes. Those artificial eyes. It explained everything. Intelligence. Her physique. Her strength and speed that seemed superhuman was in fact literally superhuman. It explained why she could break up a fight between IS pilots in gear or even take one on entirely by herself. It explained how she could rapidly descend tens of stories to beat your elevator to ground level. It only made sense that the woman could do it if she was an artificial human, most likely for the most obvious reason: A perfect human. A perfect soldier, at least in Laura's case.

The revelation admittedly gave you a sense of pride as well. Pride in the fact that there were augmented women like Laura and Chifuyu, and they had become taken with you. You had become Laura's better and her Liebling. You had likely become Chifuyu's favorite student, and then her lover. As far as you knew, she never had any relationship before either.

You shrugged. "It's as I said. Well we have virtual worlds, forcefields, mechs and plasma. Humans born via a different means isn't a stretch. But do you still have any connection with your.... creators?"

Chifuyu did not seem to take offense at the choice of words. "We're the equivalent of disowned, me and Ichika. And he is unaware of it."

"You know this actually explains lot. Including Ichika."

"How so?"

"Well I otherwise have no explanation for how dense he is." You quipped, saying it before considering whether or not it was wise to say this to his big sister.

Chifuyu snickered. "Well, I didn't exactly give him the talk."

"No kidding."

"All joking aside, I haven't told him about his origins. I'm putting a lot of trust in you telling you this as is. As far as he knows, we're orphans and I aim to keep it that way."

Well she was not necessarily wrong in saying that they were orphans by definition.

"And Madoka?"

"You figured me to be made in a lab, but you couldn't figure out what this wannabe is?" Chifuyu deadpanned.

"Then she's a clone. They wanted to duplicate you." Another thought struck you. "Wait, what about Tabane? She had a hand in what happened today didn't she?"

"As you've figured out, she's involved in a lot of crisis's." Chifuyu said. "Why do you think I'm not on the friendliest terms with her despite being friends growing up? And here's a fun fact, those creators stopped the project that made me and Ichika when she showed up. The perfect human done naturally."

"Are you serious?" You questioned. Was she a genius owing to creating the IS in the first place? Yes. But did Chifuyu mean to tell you that the bunny obsessed girl, Houki's sister, was somehow the perfect human specimen? Not only that, but Chifuyu was also implying that Tabane could match her physically.

"Dead serious. That's one reason why open hostility towards the creator of the IS is a bad move."

"Great. An egomaniac that can back it up." You lamented. Ego and capability rarely matched each other's levels. When they did, the individual was insufferable now in the sense of their boasts were no longer boasts but a fact.

"If I were you, I'd quit worrying about that. You can't control what Tabane does. You can control what happens to people here. Case in point, Tatenashi." She smirked. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

"Forgetting what?"

"Getting her medical attention was a good call, but what boyfriend doesn't visit the girl when she's in the hospital?"
