shinji had spent the past three years, on his new home doing all he could to defend, the children that had been referred to as parasites, he defended them, they defended the plantations and by extension the adults who use them as tools
shinji ikari had set up his personal headquarters in what was an abandoned mine, that mine has since been further excavated and serves as his personal home, though the base is very reminiscent of NERV, that was done on purpose by shinji to remember the pain he had endured
shinji had taken to using a TSF, the type-97: fubuki to be specific for his personal unit, since he lost his evangelion and was in no rush to retrieve it, in fact he never intended to go near the EVA ever again, shinji had just dismounted when he noticed that the base was at red alert, condition one status, which was strange, dismounting his unit got him the answer to his question
"INTRUDER ALERT" the computer's voice rang out as it repeated the same message, again and again, he pulled out his custom 'raging bull revolver'
"computer locate intruders, and identify" i ordered
"intruders deck fourteen, unknown affiliation, however they all seem to be wearing plugsuits" the computer responded, i paused then scowled, of course my past was coming back to haunt me now of all times
"understood, thank you computer" i said
"affirmative" came the computer's response
it was fortunate that the computer was a starfleet computer from a galaxy-class starship, with the firewalls of the MAGI system, he was quite proud of his little creation, he made his way to the turbolift commanding the computer to take him to deck fourteen, he didn't particularly care who it was, he wanted them gone, if it was his father, he wanted him gone, if it was misato, he wanted her gone, neither of them were ever good
he soon found the intruders, as he was hiding behind a corner, he let out a deep breath, as it had been some time since he had been in a firefight like this, he then turned the corner and began to fire, hitting one of them in the shoulder, this caused all of them to turn immediately pointing their guns towards the corner, as he fired another round
"computer, where are the automated defenses" i quietly asked
"automated defense systems have been destroyed" came the response, i cursed, because of course they had
"rifle please" i said, in response a phaser rifle was beamed directly in front of him, he holstered the revolver at his side, and began to use the rifle to fire off shots around the corner
"we have you outnumbered and outgunned, put your weapon down and come out" ritsuko ordered
"hello to you too doctor, as to being outgunned, i just have to outlast you, i won't run out of ammo for this beam weapon, but you will" i said, she frowned
"shinji" she said
"in the flesh" i replied, firing out another blast
"shinji we are here for you, put the weapon down" she said
"yeah i don't think so, i don't know what you have planned for me now, and i don't care to find out" i said
"shinji, we still outnumber you we can simply rush your position" ritsuko said
"you can try, but i built this base, so i know where i am going and as i said all i have to do is wait till you run out of ammunition, the only ammo here is 44 rounds as i rather enjoy using my revolver, otherwise well i like my beam weaponry" i said, she glared at the corner
"we can talk about this" she said
"are you here to tell me to get back into the EVA, or to imprison me" i asked
"we don't have unit-01" ritsuko said, i blinked
"so you let my father have it, like complete idiots" i said
"he doesn't have it either, it disappeared when you did" ritsuko said
"WHAT, WHY ARE YOU TRACKING ME AND NOT THE EVANGELION" i roared out, coming around the corner, the soldiers pointed their weapons at me i returned the favor
"stand down" ritsuko ordered her own trips as we all slowly lowered our weapons
"do you know how dangerous it is, that you lost unit-01" i asked
"enlighten us" ritsuko said
"follow me" i said, as i led the way to stellar cartography
"incredible" ritsuko said
"the federation had impressive technology, computer bring up live feed on G3E" i ordered, and an image appeared

"what is that" ritsuko asked terrified by the sight
"a version of the getter emperor, which is an evolution of getter robo, a human creation" i said, hearing the end of that sentence caused ritsuko to blanch
"i am showing you the worst outcome of the getter robo, because, i want you to understand there is no good future where the evangelions continue to exist, they will eventually evolve into their own angels but far more powerful and far more dangerous, after all they unlike their forebears will have no objective they truly will be insane mindless beasts, with only the intent to kill and destroy" i said
"what do we do, we need the EVAs we can't beat your father's without them" maya said
"you can, i know, i personally proved it, you see i had the chance of studying the lance of longinus, and was able to inscribe it's properties onto other weapons allowing those weapons to break AT-fields, you had the tools you just didn't know how to use them" i said, i sighed
"i will forward you the data you need to make these weapons, with the recommendation that you destroy your EVA units, i will hunt down and destroy unit-01 before the worst comes to happen" i said, as i walked over picked up a datapad and input a command downloading the aforementioned promised data, and holding it out for ritsuko to take
"take it and go" i said
"shinji" she said, the tired look she received was enough for her to gesture to her subordinates before leaving the boy turned man behind, studying the data she was given as she walked, the data was brilliant it gave clear instructions to not only create weapons capable of breaking through AT-fields, but these were conventional weapons, and he even gave data for fixing jet alone, she wondered what they could create if they had full access to shinji's technology, a subject she'd have to broach with misato
