to shinji's surprise the transition for WILLE was a lot smoother then he anticipated they seemed surprisingly willing, which was incredibly suspicious for one shinji ikari, still after a month he he let his guard down ever so slightly
"come" he said after hearing the doorchime as misato and ritsuko walked in
"commander, we found a set of classified files and were wondering what they were and why they were classified" ritsuko said
"i classified them, because they will never see use, if you must know, i was given certain things during my travels or have earned certain gifts upon my travels, i made my own theories on what could be done with these gifts, but decided they would be too dangerous to mess with i did not wish to accidently start another second impact, because i was following in my parents footsteps, i studied them unobtrusively then sealed them, and sealed they will remain" i said
"How dangerous is this stuff" misato asked, I paused
"On their own, they aren't really dangerous, I am worried what would happen if they were brought together, especially when I realized I needed a bonding element, i have only found one thing capable of bonding this all together, and this singular object is what makes this so dangerous" I said
"An S2 engine" ritsuko said, it was the only thing she could think of that made sense
"Correct, project tabris was that particular thesis, there is no harm in putting my ideas to paper" I said
"What are the benefits" misato asked
"I'm not going to answer that question, it's the wrong question to ask" I said
"What are the risks" ritsuko said immediately after I finished talking
"An impact level event, similar to the second and the near third in scope, perhaps even full instrumentality" I said, there was a look between misato and ritsuko
"What are the benefits" misato asked again, I glared at her
"Did you not hear what I just said" I asked in a frustrated tone
"How big of a risk is it" ritsuko asked
"I don't know, but it won't happen regardless, there is a reason why the file is named project tabris, that reason is because we would be cursing human beings to this existence, at least two of them" i said
"two of them" ritsuko asked
"one would have solely an S2 engine, and would be responsible for controlling the powers the other one has" i replied, misato flinched
"well we have the controller already in front of us" ritsuko said, i glared at her
"so you think i wanna curse myself to this existence, especially since let's not forget how many of your people will highly dislike the idea, of giving me that kind of power, they already fear and distrust me, so why not make it worse" i said, misato flinched, ritsuko looked impassive
"i would need my people to help foresee the process" ritsuko pointed out, i paused
"alright, if you can get me enough volunteers to not only complete the process, but to also defend me during the process, i will think about becoming a controller" i said
"very well" she responded, as she turned on her heel and left two days later, she brought me a list
"volunteers" she said, as i looked the list over i was shocked to learn that it was almost the entire staff
"and who would my partner be" i asked
"shikinami of course" ritsuko said
"have you asked her" i asked, she frowned
"you didn't" i said, with a shake of my head
"i'm in" asuka said
"you don't even know what we are talking about" i said
"it deals with me, it will help me fight i'm in" asuka said
"akagi, inform our ignorant pilot what she is insisting on signing up for" i said, ritsuko looked quite reluctant, but did as she was told, asuka appeared to at first be shocked
"shinji will be holding control of me right" asuka asked
"yes that will be the case" ritsuko said
"then i'm in" she said, i let out a frustrated sigh as i rubbed my head
"computer unclassify all files listened under project E2" i said
"affirmative" came the response
"get me a full plan for this project on my desk, you have one week" i said, ritsuko nodded and left
"what was that about" she said
"ritsuko and misato want this project, i wanted it to stay buried, they don't see the potential risks involved, if i can't keep control of you, or by god lose my own mental control, it is possible an impact event and even instrumentality would occur" i said, her eyes widened horrified
"yet they still want to go through with this" she asked
"this project gives the full benefits of an evangelion meaning it has the best capability of breaking AT fields which is what they care about creating the most efficient AT-field destroying weapon for when we face off against unit-13 and likely whatever unit-01 has become" i said
