Two years have passed. Morgan, now eleven years old, was living in New York City with her parents, in the new and impressive Stark Tower. As she got older, Morgan had been spending more and more time in her father's workshop, helping him with his latest projects. She was even working on a project of her own: creating a taser bracelet, similar to the one used by Natasha.
"Hand me the wrench," Tony said, barely glancing up from the piece of machinery he was working on.
Morgan handed it over without hesitation. "You really need to organize this better, Dad. It's a mess in here."
Tony smirked. "Mess is just a sign of creativity, kid. Besides, I know where everything is. Chaos has its perks."
She rolled her eyes but smiled. Ever since they had moved to New York, it felt like they were in a constant state of chaos. Her father, always busy with his inventions, had been teaching her more about mechanical engineering—everything from modifying his suits to working on smaller gadgets. In her free time, she read as much as she could about the emerging world of superheroes. Reports about Captain America fascinated her. Morgan saw him as a legend. Tony, however, wasn't a fan.
"Don't let Steve Rogers fool you," Tony often said. "He's got the shiny shield and perfect hair, but he's still just a guy in a costume."
One evening, there was a knock at the door. Morgan was sprawled on the living room couch reading, while Pepper was in the kitchen preparing dinner.
"Are you expecting anyone?" Morgan called out to Tony, who was in his workshop.
"Nope!" Tony replied from the other room.
The knock came again, and this time, Pepper walked over to the door from the kitchen. "I'll get it," she said, a slight edge of apprehension in her voice. When Pepper opened the door, she was met by Agent Phil Coulson, who stood there looking as composed as ever, holding a digital tablet under his arm.
"Phil!" Pepper greeted him with a welcoming smile, as Tony strolled into the living room, wiping grease from his hands onto a rag.
"Phil?" Tony said. "His first name is agent."
"Come on in." Pepper insisted, inviting him into the living space.
Coulson offered a polite smile. "I apologise for the intrusion."
"How'd you even get through the security systems?" Tony asked.
"We need you to look this over as soon as possible." Coulson said, handing the tablet over to Tony.
Tony sighed. "Official consulting hours are between 8 and 5 every other Thursday-" Tony said, taking the tablet.
"This isn't a consultation." Coulson said, his expression still serious.
"Is this about the Avengers?" Pepper inquired. "Which I know nothing about." She added.
"The Avengers Initiative was scrapped. And I thought I made it abundantly clear to Fury that I have no interest in joining his super secret boyband." Tony said, walking over to his work table.
"Times have changed." Coulson replied.
"Let me walk you out." Pepper offered, accompanying Coulson out the door.
Tony then opened all the file, displaying all the compiled info and footage on each of the Avengers recruits. At that moment, Morgan appeared beside her father, curious about what was going on.
Morgan crossed her arms, her curiosity piqued. "Woah." She said, looking at all the holographic displays.
"Yeah, you said it, kid." Tony said, his eyes scanning the vast amount of info displayed before him.
