SUBJECT E: EXPERIMENTAL UNDERSTANDING

"He's been upset the entire day." Jason said as he let out a sigh, letting his body relax in the steaming waters of the giant bath. He was naked, of course, his pale and toned body was covered in some water droplets. Simon was the same, having his whole body on display as he rested his body in the waters.

Simon released a breath as well, "Yeah, I think I noticed that as well. He's definitely missing that little girl, I think." The man said as he saw that Shifty hasn't entered the bath yet.

The three of them were in the expensive, and excessive bath that was made from Simon's unnecessary choices. It was a few feet away from the house that they shared, which wasn't a huge detail. The bath was the same size as a modern house, and it had a spa, a sauna, a hot tub, a regular shower room, and a big bath.

The big bath is where the three chose to bathe. It's just as it sounds, it's a giant bath that's easily comparable to a pool. The floors of the giant bathe were different heights: one side deeper than the other—more shallow side. A bunch of metal dragon heads hung above the giant bath, metal mouths hanging open as water fell down like a waterfall into the bath.

Shifty stood at the edge of the bath, cautiously looking at the steam that rose from the waters.

"He's cautious of everything he's not used to. I don't think he's even seen steam come out of water before." Jason huffed.

"I mean, I kind of understand! It's kind of cool and fascinating to look at, especially for your first time, y'know?" Simon said with a shrug.

"He's been staring at it for thirty minutes..."

Simon chuckled, "Yeah, he has! He's never gonna get clean at this rate." Simon muttered as he started to think. He snapped his fingers once he thought of something,

"Maybe we can just give him a lil nudge?"

"You want to pull 'em in? You'll scare him if you do that!"

"Well I'm all out of ideas..."

Jason sighed, "I got it." Jason walked his way through the water of the bath to Shifty. The scaled being looked at the approaching smoker, tilting his head a bit on confusion. When Jason made it close enough, he reached his hand out towards Shifty.

He said nothing as he stood and waited for Shifty's reaction.

Shifty looked at the hand before looking back at Jason, tilting his head again for a few moments before finally deciding to reach out. The being's clawed hand touched Jason's calloused one, just gently laying his on top of Jason's. After a few seconds of silence, Jason started to move back—his hand slipping away from Shifty's touch. By the confused and facial expressions alone, Jason could tell Shifty didn't like the movement away. It brought bad memories back—memories that he struggles to remember. On instinct, he reached forward more to try to reach Jason's hand; however, he slipped and fell into the bath.

Shifty started to flail around in the water from the shock of the sudden fall. Jason quickly grabbed Shifty's wrist with one hand, and he placed the other one behind Shifty's back. He pulled Shifty towards his own, naked body.

"Hey, calm down! It's alright! It's just water." He said as he tried to soothe Shifty. He held the being close to them to keep them up until they have calmed down, knowing that releasing them now will probably cause them to panic again. He watched as Shifty took rapid breaths, but he also noticed how he hasn't tried to force himself out of the bath. He was just looking around, trying to process exactly where he was or what just happened.

"See? It's not that bad, right?" Jason said with an indifferent expression, still holding Shifty close. The feeling of the beings body against his body was interesting. Shifty's skin was soft in most areas, but his body also had small patches of scales—which were a bit rough in comparison to his softer skin that's not too far off from each small patch.
