[Pan here, this is probably the last one-shot for a while. Anyways, enjoy.]
As an artist, celebrity, singer, and public figure, what is the thing you should care about the most?
Should it be your well being? Being in the limelight after all requires your utmost attention to your health. Once you get thinner by a bit, people will speak against you. Once you gain weight, people will also speak against you.
Should it be your reputation? Being on TV screens for people of all nationalities and all ages, you must have a clean image because one wrong scandal, even if it's fake news, can make the empire you built go to ruins.
Should it be your brand deals? After all, it's the one that generates you money. In the very competitive world of showbiz, getting one brand deal is difficult enough, what more if you lose them? Because that would set a precedent that since you lost your own brand deals, why would other brands risk money to you?
But what if one person was suddenly willing to risk it all for a girl? Will it all be worth it, or will he fall down the wretched hole of forgotten artists?
One man, who was willing to risk it all. Meet L/n Y/n, a singer-actor that rose to fame due to his songwriting skills. Already a few years in the industry, he's already had collaborations and wrote songs for and with some artists, like TWICE, KISS OF LIFE, and some soloists like CHUU and even had a duet song with the Asiansoul himself, JYP. Truly a young and promising talent that is a potential face for the future of K-pop.
Today, he's going to an award show, not as a participant, but as a special guest, someone who'll announce who won. Sadly for him, he received no nominations for this award show but then again, his last album dropped half a year ago and hasn't released songs ever since.
"Hey, no funny stuff again, alright? I don't want to hear people saying you were doing crazy stuff." Y/n's manager said as she sighed in defeat.
"C'mon, what did I do at the last award show I was invited to?" Y/n complained, with his manager rolling her eyes.
"Well, when you won the award, you backflipped on the stage. And when you got back at your table, you backflipped again on top of the table. You, by the way, almost fell down the table, and might've injured yourself and others. Y'know how hard the PR team had to clear up your name?" The manager scolded Y/n.
"I- I told you guys that I'd handle that fiasco all by myself. Besides, the fans loved it, the idols I was with loved it. It feels like management was the only one who didn't like it." Y/n shrugged off.
"Well, I know that being like that is your personality. But y'know, the old people don't like that. And since the music you write for yourself is mostly ballads, something the old people like more than the flashy pop music, you need to at least appease the demographic that likes your genre the most. You are basically appeasing the older generations. At least use that demographic to promote your music. Do you really think the younglings would listen that much to your music?" His manager said, reminding him that he should be more well behaved.
"Fine... I'll behave. Anyways, can I get out of this car now? I'll see you tomorrow, later? I'm interested in the after party." Y/n said as he left the car and walked to the carpet, the flashing camera lights partially blinding him from time to time.
Soon enough, the award show started, the stadium filled with a star-studded cast. The program started as one by one, per category, all of its nominations, and eventually, the victor. All of them came and went. Until it was Y/n's time to announce the winner of the final award.
"Hello? Alright! And the winner for this year's best group of the year, by consistently putting out quality songs, smooth moves, and overall just great concept and visuals..." Y/n said, building the anticipation as he opened the envelope given to him.
