Yura opened the front door and was about to slam it shut behind her but Niki managed to catch it and get in too.

He glared at the girl from behind and pushed her forward, making her almost fall on her face "Bitch."

"Asshole." The girl muttered as he walked past her but both teens were stopped when the feminine voice of Miss Nishimura called them.

The step siblings walked into the living room and saw their parents sitting next to each other while they held hands.

Niki's mom smiled and gestured for the two of them to take a seat opposite of their parents "Sit down, kids."

They did as told and watched their parents warily. The woman in front of them took a deep breath in with a wide smile and exchanged a look with the man next to her.

"We have some very good news for you."

"What is it?" Niki asked, switching his eyes between the two adults.

"We are... Getting married!!" Niki's mother shrieked excitingly and Yura's father gave her a smile.

The faces of the two teens dropped at the same time and Yura stared at the couple sitting in front of her "What?"

"Are you serious?" Niki asked, weirdly calm but Yura knew that the boy was always trying to please his mother and probably didn't want to upset her with his true feelings about the news. He was boiling inside.

"Yes!!" The older woman nodded frantically, smiling from ear to ear and she lifted her hand to show the ring on her finger. That had to be expensive.

"The wedding is this weekend and for our honeymoon," Yura's father turned to look at Niki's mom while he spoke "We'll travel to Hawaii."

"Hawaii?" Yura grimaced, trying not to show the disgust she had for this marriage.

"Yeah, just us two. You kids will stay here because of school." Miss Nishimura explained "And hey, maybe you can bond further as brother and sister." She suggested.

"Sure." Yura mumbled.

"Mhm." Niki crossed his arms and leaned back on the couch.

"My god, I'm so happy!" Miss Nishimura kissed her soon to be husband on the cheek "We gotta start planning now." She said and dragged the man with her, leaving the two teens alone.

Yura scoffed and got up to walk into the kitchen. She knew better that to protest against this marriage, so to distract herself she pulled out some left over food and a fork and made herself something to eat.
She heard the slow footsteps of Niki entering the kitchen but ignored him.

She didn't see it coming but also wasn't really surprised when cold metal met the skin on her neck.

Yura's grip on the fork tightened as Niki stood directly behind her and held a kitchen knife to her throat.
The girl drew a sharp breath in but she knew that he wouldn't have the guts to use the damn thing.
