Addison tightend the elastic that was holding back half of her hair. She stepped back, looking at herself in her full length mirror.
She was officially a senior.
She fixed her East High Studint Council shirt as she continued to stare at herself.
"Knock, knock." She turned and saw her dad, Mike, opening the door. "Big day!"
"Just school, dad." She said, reaching down for her white hightop Converse.
"It's your senior year, Ads." Addison smiled slighty, tying her shoes. "Student council vice president can't be late, and you're heading on that path if you don't get your groove on." Mike told her. She reached for her phone, seeing that it was after 7:15.
"Shit. Thanks dad!" She shot up from her bed, grabbing her backpack. "Ricky! We gotta go!" She yelled, opening the door to his room. Her younger brother shot out of bed, obviously just waking up.
"I'm up!"
"Seriously, Ricky?" She snapped. "It's 7:15, I'm already running late."
"School dosen't start until eight, Ads."
"StuCo needs to be there early for incoming freshman. I'm leaving in five." She walked away, leaving the door open.
Mike was back in the kitchen, putting toast on a plate.
"Ricky has five minutes." Addison said, taking a bite of the toast. "He just woke up."
"Good morning, Bowen's!" Big Red let himself in the back door. "Where's Ricky?"
"He just woke up." Addison rolled her eyes, tucking her phone in the back pocket of her jean skirt.
"We can skate together, would hate for you to be late your first day of senior year!" Red yelled, running up the stairs.
"I gotta get going, Ads. Here's some money for you and Rick." He handed cash over to his oldest daughter. "And try to remember to get a picture with your brother."
"Can't promise that." Addison looked at the clock on the stove. 7:20. "Ricky! I'm leaving!"
"Bye!" He called back. She rolled her eyes again, standing up, grabbing the last of her toast.
"Bye dad, love you."
"Love you too, sweetie. Drive safe."
"I will."
The girl rushed out of the door to her 2012 Honda Civic. She threw her backpack in the backseat. The drive to East High was short, and she finally got to park in the senior lot.
"Bowen!" She looked over and saw EJ Caswell, co-captain of the water polo team.
"Hey." She beamed, getting her backpack out of her car. If EJ was here- She squealed as someone lifted her off the ground.
"Senior year!" The boy behind her yelled. She laughed, her hands falling over his arms.
Jason Munson. The other co-captain of the team, East High's it boy. Addison's boyfriend since junior prom. As cliche as it sounds, almost every girl wanted to be Addison Bowen. Not for her looks or smarts, but the fact the she was the one that scored Jason Munson. He already has a full ride to UCLA for water polo.
"Someone is looking particulary beautiful today." Jason said, kissing her head. The gril just blushed, relaxing into him. "This year is all about us, and finding a girl for Caswell!"
"No need for that second one." EJ told them, the three began the journey to the infamous East High.
"No way! EJ finally got some!"
