I was currently getting ready to go see Noah. I had sat in my room and thought about it and decided that maybe it was time we had a conversation about it.
And I also may have had a dream again.
As I got ready, I had also decided to actually eat breakfast and not have just coffee. I'm improving every day. I walked out of my apartment and headed to my car. As I got in, I turned on my playlist and went into shuffle mode. As I continued to drive, our song came on. I immediately turned it off and skipped to the next song.
I can't see Noah with puffy eyes.
As I made it to his house, I took a big deep breath before getting out my car. As I walked to his door, I noticed another car in his driveway. It was probably Kethan. As I got to the door, I rang the doorbell. It didn't take long for Noah to answer the door. but when he did, my legs almost went numb.
He was wearing only black sweatpants, showing off his toned abs. I got my focus back on the real reason why I was here.
Instead of the reason I wanted to stay.
"I'm sorry for not calling beforehand, but I felt like we needed to have a discussion" I say. Noah's eyes started to widen. "Uh, Nova I really don't think this is a good tim.." "Noah, what are you doing?".
I suddenly heard a voice.
A female voice.
I then saw a brown haired girl come out the side to my view. Her hair was in a messy bun, and her face was bare.
And she was wearing my damn robe.
"Wait, isn't this Nova" she says as she grabs Noah's arm. My body suddenly becomes tense. Since I've known Noah, I've never seen another woman on his arm. So, seeing this wasn't only hurting me mentally, but emotionally. "You know what, I'll just go. Clearly you're busy" I say. I don't let Noah get a word out before I walked to my car. I instantly drove off and could only think about one thing.
I'm never going to Zryan or Serenity for advice again.
Later that day, I decided to go to a bar. My nerves have been off the hook, and it's been annoying me all day. I pulled into the bar and walked into a somewhat calm setting. The only thing that wasn't so calm about it was the amount of frat boys in here. So, this is what Serenity meant.
I walked over to the nearest corner. I ordered a shot of Tequilla, I've earned it. I think I'm becoming an alcoholic.
As I sat there with the empty shot glass in my hand, I suddenly heard the Frat boys again. "Yo! Blue shirt! Your tits are hugeee" One of them yells at a girl nearby. The girl scoffs as she grabs her purse and walks out. I sat there and watched them torment these girls, while the bartender just sat and watched.
They were soon making my head hurt from all the catcalling they were doing. "Can they shut up?". I guess one of them noticed me in the corner by myself. "Yo! Tan sweatshirt!". I look up to see the blonde boy look at me with a smirk on his face. But before he could say anything, I saw Noah hover over him. He taps him on the shoulder. The boy turns around, not knowing what he had just started. "If you mess with my wife, I'll fucking kill you" he says harshly. The boy's face becomes a little paler then his original color. And at this point, his friends weren't backing him up.
The boy then gets up and runs while all his friends do the same. I then made eye contact with Noah. Even after all this time of fighting and trying to avoid each other, he still somehow had a way into my heart just by looking at me.
He then starts to walk over to me. It only took a few steps just for him to be standing face to face with me. We stared in silence, taking in whatever it was in. "you said you wanted to talk earlier?" he says.
Right earlier.
"Well, I did, until I saw you had company" I say sarcastically. He sighs deeply. He then takes a seat and sits next to me. "She was a old friend" "a old friend who was wearing my robe and had you shirtless". He bit his lip. I was still irritated at the thought of that women who I didn't know wearing my robe.
"Serenity, what did you want to speak to me about?". I take a deep breath. If I had the courage to do it earlier, I could do it now. and I had a good shot, so the alcohol made it easier to just come out. "it's about what happened in Vegas" I say. his lips suddenly thinned at my response, knowing what exactly I'm talking about. "I see." He says. "I just need to know; did we have sex?" I ask.
He chuckles lightly. "No Nova, we didn't have sex. I simply took you back to my hotel room." he says. "But why?". That was the most important question out of all the ones I'm asking. "Nova, you've never been as drunk as you were that night, at least since I've known you" he says. He had a good point but we both knew that wasn't the whole truth. "Noah, we've been married for 3 years. I know you well enough to know when your not telling me something" I say. He looks at me with softness in his eyes. maybe the mention of our marriage made the scene more intense.
"I couldn't leave you like that. My mind, my soul, my heart. It just couldn't." he says. Hearing him tell me about how he feels always made me happy when we were married. Noah didn't open up as much as the next guy, but when he did, it made me feel like I finally earned his trust.
But this time it's different. We were divorced.
The trust is somewhat still there, it's just the fact we aren't an actual couple anymore.
We both stood there, not saying anything. "Well, I'm glad you took me back to your room" I say. "No problem". Now it's more awkward then heartfelt. "well, I have to get going" I say. Noah nodded his head as he got up. As I got up, I brushed passed Noah, not being able to speak to him or even look back at him, not matter how much I wanted too.
As I walked to my car, all I could think of was when he was confronting those boys and what he called me.
"My wife"
