7 years old

I woke up to two of my brothers, Fred and George, slightly shaking me and whispering my name. "Rose, Rose," they whispered, "we just got new neighbors, and we need to meet them." Grumbling, I told them to sod off; it was 6 AM on a SATURDAY for Pete's sake. "Come on, Rose, it'll be fun, we promise." After staring at them for ten minutes, I finally agreed. I quickly changed into my clothes and snuck downstairs. Fred and George met me there, holding my magic supplies in their hands. I had been practicing magic since I was five. I loved the way that pulling a cat from a hat could make people smile. With that thought, I grabbed my fake wand, attached my flower to my shirt, and walked out the door. Little did I know that it would be a half-mile walk to get there at 6 in the morning. "You didn't tell me I would have to walk this far! I could be sleeping right now!" They told me that they were sorry, which did nothing to calm me. Resigning to finish the walk because I was already halfway there, I pondered how I should introduce myself, as Starry, my magic name, or with my real name. As if reading my mind, my brothers said, "Introduce yourself as Rose." Finally, we arrived at our new neighbors house. Here's what I saw: a big tree with bright green leaves, a small two-story house, and a face peeking out of a window. Seeing that nothing about the house, except for the face, seemed scary, I walked up to the door with a smile on my face and knocked as loud as I could. A tall brown-haired brown-eyed man and a blonde-haired blue-eyed woman who was slightly taller than me opened the door. This is how the conversation went.

"Hi, my name is Rose, and these are my brothers Fred and George. We're triplets."

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Albert, and this is my wife, Mary," said the brown-haired man.

"We are your new neighbors and wanted to come meet you. If you don't mind, I would like to do some magic for you." They happily agreed to seeing some of my tricks. To start, I grabbed a coin out of my pocket and made it disappear. Then I told them that I was going to make it reappear. While I was explaining the rest of the trick, a boy with brown hair and blue eyes tiptoed out to see what was going on. He looked to be the same age as me. While I noticed him, I reached behind Albert's ear and pulled out a coin, seemingly making it reappear. While they clapped, I asked the boy what his name was and if he wanted to help me with another trick. He told me he would love to help, yet didn't inform me of his name. I decided he could help anyway. I told him to look at the flower on my shirt, which he immediately did. After that, I pushed one of the buttons on the flower, and it sprayed water all over him. Needless to say, he was not happy. Then I pushed a different button, showing the other two-thirds of my triplet that it was empty. When they leaned in to get a closer look, I pushed the first button again. Knowing that they would instantly chase after me, I took off and flew up the tree. The boys couldn't reach methere, so I sat in the tree completely relaxed. They ran after me, screaming at me. When they reached the tree, they stopped and looked up at me. "You can't get me." I taunted them. And with that, the other kid climbed the tree just about as fast as me, saying, "They can't, but I can." And with that, I was stuck in a tree having a conversation with somebody who probably wanted to kill me. Oh well, at least it wasn't one of my brothers. "Maybe you will introduce yourself now," I said with a glare. "Maybe I won't." He responded with a smug look on his face. Ugh, he was just like the others in my triplet. "I'll push you out of the tree if you don't respond." "No, you won't; you're too curious," he informed me. "No, I'm not." "Yes, you are." "No, I'm not." "Yes, you a," his sentence ended with my hand covering his mouth. The parents had just shown up, and they didn't know I was here. Uh oh. Slowly removing my hand from his mouth, I whispered, "Be silent." "why?" "My parents just showed up, and they don't know us triplets are here," I say gesturing towards my brothers below. "Let's go spy," he says. "Now you're speaking my language," and with that I start swinging through the tree to reach a spot just above the parents. He quickly joins me in listening right above them. "So you are the parents of the kids who were just here to welcome us." "Crud, they blew our cover," I whisper yell. "Our kids were here," mom says, looking at dad. "I hope they weren't too much trouble." "Only a little bit of trouble," they responded. "I would introduce you to James, but he took off chasing after that girl." "That would be Rose; she's always causing trouble." "No, I'm not," I say indignantly, flipping out of the tree. "Rose," my father scolds. "It's fine, me and James," I pointed towards James, who had flipped out of the tree with me, "were just hanging out in the tree." "We will talk about this later," my mom says. "Triplets, go home." "Fine," we chorus in unison. "Last one there has to take the blame," and with that challenge from Fred, we take off across the field, just hoping to survive the day. Needless to say, I lost; I always did.
