It's time

"Hello, Professor Vector! I can't wait for our lesson," I drop my voice to a whisper as I sit down next to Cedric,"to be over." He doesn't even smile. This kid. My Monday is going great. I missed breakfast, barely made it to class on time, and haven't seen my triplets or James yet. Plus, I am stuck sitting next to Diggory. "Are you going to let me focus today, Weasley?" "Nope. Never Diggory. Not until you humor me." He just glares at me. Yup, this is such a Monday. Maybe it will get better, wishful thinking. After I get through Arithmancy, I stumble my way to Binns's class. "Uggh," I flop my head down onto the desk. James smirks at my antics, knowing I'm just being overdramatic. "Let me guess you didn't get breakfast," he hands me toast. "How did you know?" My triplets appear over our shoulders. "You are only this crabby when you don't get breakfast," George answers. "I hate this day." Fred speaks up over my groans, "Want some good news?" "Nothing possibly good could happen today," I grumble. "There is a lightning storm tonight." "Why didn't you just say so?" I immediately perk up, "I can't wait!" During the lesson, I get bored. What an amazing occurrence! Herbology is going to be torture. -Starry. I pass the note to James, who opens it, scribbles something back, and then gives it to me. While I'm reading his response I get hit in the back of the head by a note. I open it and show it to James so we can read it at the same time. I miss you guys -Shadow. Why won't you sit by us anymore? -Red. I grin and wink at James. Grabbing my quill, I quickly scribble my response down. I like Lynx more-Starry. I pass the note to James and watch as he writes, I couldn't live without Star-Lynx. I laugh a little as I watch my brothers expressions change into ones of fake anger as they read the note. Looking back at James, I give his outstretched hand a high five. Ten minutes later we get the note back, and it reads: If that's how you want to play this... -Red. We like each other more—Shadow and Red. P.S. We aren't going to talk to you all day -Shadow. I roll my eyes at James, these drama queens. Fine, I write, we won't talk to you either—Lynx and Starry. We send the note back to them. Once they read it, they look up and nod at us. The best part about this is that we really won't talk to each other all day now. We are all too stubborn to break the promise first. Deciding that I'm done talking to them, I go back to the other note. James had asked why herbology would be torture. We are working with mandrakes today. -Starry. When he reads the note, he groans and bangs his head on the table. I have to stifle my laugh as Professor BInns notices. "Is something the matter, Mr. Johnson?" "No. Sorry for interrupting, professor." Before Binns can respond, the bell rings. James and I stumble out the door laughing. "I can't believe that Binns noticed. That has to be like the first time in a hundred years that he has noticed anything." James glares at me as he fakes being serious. "You're only laughing because it wasn't you." I give him a skeptical look, trying to be serious,"Okay sir. I didn't mean to offend you." We are both trying not to smile, but we almost instantly crack. We walk into herbology with giant smiles on our faces. Professor Sprout, who is standing by the door, notices and looks at us with concern. "What did you guys do this time?" "Just disrupting the lesson like usual," Diggory says as he walks by. That prick, he's just jealous. "Is this true?" Sprout asks. "Not really, ma'am. James remembered that we are doing mandrakes today, and he expressed his feelings rather loudly right as the bell rang." "And what would these feelings be, Mr. Johnson?" Sprout inquires, looking at James. "You'll find out soon enough, Professor," James responds casually. "Good call," I whisper to him as we head to our station. Despite our dislike of mandrakes, Herbology goes by in a flash. By the end of the class I have decided that dealing with mandrakes isn't as bad as I thought it was. Before I know it, lunch has passed, and it is time to go back to the common room after supper. Fred and George, still being drama queens, haven't talked to us yet. Since we started this, we know that it is up to us to do the overdramatic apology. "Shadow, Red," we yell as we walk into the common room. "Could you ever forgive us?" I ask, falling on my knees, sobbing. "We miss you!" James adds as he falls down next to me. "I don't know," Fred says. "I would have to confer with Shadow." George and Fred walk over to the corner and talk in whispers. This leaves James and I to fake sob in the middle of the common room. The first years, who haven't witnessed us being dramatic yet,  look down right confused and concerned. The older years are just rolling their eyes and smiling, now used to our overdramatic antics. The only person that looks down right annoyed is Hermione. "Look at Granger," I whisper to James. He smirks as he sees her annoyed expression," She is actually hilarious." "We have decided," Fred and George say as they come back to us, interrupting our assessment of Granger, "that because we are so gracious, we will forgive you." I launch myself into George's arms. "Thank you, thank you, so, so, so much," I sob into his shirt. After I feel I have been dramatic enough, I take a step back and look out the window. "It's time," I say extremely serious. The four of us walk to the exit of the common room and bow,"We bid you ado." We race out of the common room and to the room of requirement where we grab our hidden phials. The potion inside is blood-red. Perfect. I grin,"It's time." We all grab our wands and point them at our throats, saying the incantation one last time, "Amato, animo, animato, animagus." There is an instant of unbearable pain before I look around and see the whole world from a different angle. Surrounding me are three animals: a red fox, a black dog, and a lynx. We did it! I exclaim in my head. Yea, we did! Who said that? I ask in my head. I did. I'm George. What animal am I? Can you spin in a circle for me quick, George? I ask wanting to make sure that I know for sure which animal he is. The black dog quickly spins in a circle. You're a black dog. I tell him. What about me? I'm Fred, by the way. Their voices sound a little different, just like when they talk out loud. Spin in a circle. I order him. The fox spins in a circle, excitedly. You're a red fox. Turning towards the only animal left, I mindspeak, Which means that James, you are a lynx. You're a wolf, Star.  A voice I don't recognize yet, speaks up. We all quickly change back into our human forms. "I can't believe we did it!" I exclaim, the instant I'm back in human form. "Yeah, we did," James says. The four of us stay in the room of requirement for hours, changing back and forth between our different forms. Once we are completely exhausted, we sneak back into the common room. The only person still there is Harry. "You guys, go on ujp to bed; I'll be right there," I tell the boys, deciding Harry needs someone to look out for him. I walk over to where Harry is staring mindlessly at the flames. "Something wrong?" I ask, startling him. "Nothing," he tries to sound sure. "You know you can always talk to me, Harry," I inform him. As I head for the stairs, he speaks up, "I'm just nervous about our quidditch match tomorrow." I make my way back towards the couch.  I kneel in front of him I look him in the eyes and say,"I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, Harry. You are an amazing seeker. The best we've had in a while." "Thanks Rose." "Anytime Harry. I mean it." I sit with him for a few more minutes before I tell him to go to sleep. He nods and gives me a hug as he walks up the stairs. In that moment, I decide that I will take care of Harry like he is my little brother. I go upstairs and lay down next to James. "Quidditch tomorrow." He grins, "I thought you had forgotten." "Me, forget about Quidditch," I act offended, "and to think we grew up together." He chuckles softly. "Goodnight Hazel." "Goodnight Jamie."
