"Good afternoon,"

...

"Recent terrorist attacks originating in Areas F15 to M25 have begun to spread out and increase in frequency. Military contractor Raining Star, who established a defensive line at G20 2 months ago, has yet to provide any updates on their status. Towns such as the Block 2 and The Bunker have become overrun with refugees who have abandoned their towns, following warnings to flee before the terror attacks begin.

Numerous Service Contracts for the United Liberation Union have been opened on a first come first serve basis, promising protection from the coming war. The ULU has refused to comment on why it is taking such actions.

The USC9 has offered to accept refugees Starting at S24, S15, and S77.

Coincidentally, the ULU and USC9 require a full body inspection along with a 10 day quarantine procedure before entry.

The ULU has announced it will begin its patrols into the wasteland in search of potential contractors."

"Breaking news, the City of Craterview has been destroyed overnight. Long distance observers noted explosions and gunshots, though visuals of these attackers have yet to be acquired by any agency. We are now switching to an interview- we have been given permission to talk to PMC Black Wolf's spokesperson, Cole Julius. Cole, where were you when Craterview was under attack?"

"I'll tell you Fleece, we were on our way to help in the policing of Craterview, but got stuck on the highway network, traffic is rough thanks to the panicking happening back in the F zones. Whatever these things are, they're faster than a Snow Crawler."

"Julius, what would you have done if you were able to arrive at Craterview?"

"I don't know myself. I said they're faster than the average vehicle, so it must be some form of stealth bomber. I can't disclose too much, trade secret, but if I was there on the ground fighting those monsters, I would probably kill myself."

"Excuse me- monsters?"

Uzi closed the bathroom door and walked down the hall to the kitchen. Her worries mounted as she found her parents untouched oil still sitting on the table. Uzi opened the fridge and felt a spill of warm caustic fumes come from the chassis.

Three weeks earlier, thousands of refugees came spilling through their vault doors, rusted, corrupted, and dying. They were covered in mud and torn by their journey exposed to the unforgiving cold. One week earlier, Khan and Sarah had been called to the council meeting. Now 12 hours have passed since Uzi mentally set a new highscore on the longest council meeting. Checking the freezer, pushing past all the spare parts, Uzi realized she had to go shopping.

Uzi put her clothes on, emptied her backpack, and made her way outside. She had to keep her room card close. There had been more reports of identity theft from this week to drown the private security force. Every inch of floor was occupied by outsiders bundled in whatever they wore on their backs. Their eyes were throbbing with fear that had driven them to exhaustion.

There was a twinge of guilt as she reached their local store, which was one of the spare rooms. The line she had followed reached the store, with a haphazardly placed pole and paper reading "Employment line". The outsiders looked down at her with hope, hope they could find a job and secure residence before security kicked them out. Uzi walked through the glass door and found all the shelves to be empty.

She kept wandering through the steel shelf halls, hoping something would appear to her like a miracle, but it would never come.

"Hey!" Uzi jumped at the voice of her combat drone friend.
