Third person pov:
"Alright class, I will be returning your test papers that we did last week. Try to understand the questions that you didn't answer correctly and come to me if you have any doubts." Mrs Kang started giving out the papers one by one.
Sarang received hers and managed to get 80/100 marks even though she didn't study since she was lazy as usual. It was enough for her but to her parents, only full marks are acceptable.
Meanwhile Jeemin got a 100 which was expected since she's always studying and revising her notes whenever she has time. She sure is the model student and daughter that everyone wants.
And Jiyoon... "YES I PASSED!" she cheered, being satisfied with her 51/100 marks.
"I'm not even satisfied with my 65 marks and there goes that girl going crazy over 51" Koko shook her head looking at Jiyoon.
Sarang's pov:
School ended pretty late and I reached home just in time for dinner. I chucked my bag on my bedroom floor and washed up before going down to eat. After eating, I went back to my room and started playing with my phone as usual. I was supposed to be studying my notes but I just cannot be bothered.
"Sarang, did you get your test paper back?" my dad asked as he walked into my room and waited for an answer. I nodded but didn't tell him my score, preparing myself for the scolding that was gonna come. "What did you get?" he stared at me with a stern look.
Ah... here goes nothing.
"80/100." I let out a sigh while still playing with my phone.
"Oh, and you think that's good enough? Put your phone down and look at me while I'm talking!" he yelled.
I put my phone in my pocket and looked at him just like what he told me to do. Why are his expectations so high? Why can't he just be satisfied with what I got? I constantly ask myself everyday, wondering if praising me for once was ever possible.
He continued scolding and scolding for a whole 5 minutes until he suddenly said "can't you be more like your sister? She works so hard and here you are lazing around. I didn't raise you to be this useless!"
That was my breaking point.
"WELL NOBODY TOLD YOU TO HAVE SUCH HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF ME! CAN'T YOU JUST BE GRATEFUL THAT I CAN GET DECENT GRADES? WHAT'S WITH CALLING ME USELESS? I HATE YOU!"
I raged with my fists clenched. I know I get lazy at times but useless? That's too much.
"RYU SARANG! You DO NOT raise your voice at me like that. Don't you know I'm doing all this because I care for you?" he lectured again.
I had enough. "Oh you cared for me? Since when? All you ever cared about was our grades!"
I ran out of my room and left the house.
To cool down, I went to the park and walked around. "Cared for me? What a joke. Even Jeemin cares for me more than that old man." Remembering the time I called her after receiving the unsettling picture of me from the unknown number. Her voice assured me, even though I didn't tell her what happened.
"Ugh, my mood is ruined. Let's call one of the girls" I was about to reach into my pocket for my phone to call my friends when all of a sudden, I felt two hands grabbing my waist and covering my mouth. I tried screaming but I couldn't breathe and completely passed out before I knew it...
Where am I? What is this place? Who is the guy standing in front of me?
As I slowly opened my eyes and regained consciousness, I found myself on the floor with my hands and feet tied while trying to piece together what had happened. It looked like I was in some sort of storage room, observing the sports equipment scattered around the small area. And right in front of me, was a guy standing with his hands behind his back, smirking pervertedly.
"Oh you're awake, good morning princess~"
