He sat on the hard wooden blanks, watching as the others came in. Placing his feet sole to sole, he bent over his legs. His long pink hair flopped around him. He made sure the ponytail didn't touch the dirty stage floor. As he sat up, a brown bag dropped to the space between his legs.
"Where were you at lunch?" A deep voice asked beside him.
"Parking lot." He answered tearing open the bag.
He sniffed the aroma coming out of it. Even through the plastic lid on the container, he could smell the deliciousness of it. He pulled everything out. His hand searched the bottom of the bag. It didn't find anything else. He flipped the sealed dish over. Nothing. He growled.
"You stupid ape, where is..." Before his angry rant could end, the smirking green haired boy held out plastic wrapped plastic ware.
He snatched it out of the other's hand.
"Idiot!" He snarled tearing into the food.
"Wonder if we will get any newbies." His friend muttered, sinking to the floor beside him.
He held a coffee cup in one hand. The pink haired teen eyed him, mouth full of the carbonara. He shrugged. The other snickered at him, pulling out a white cloth napkin, he touched the spot of sauce on the slender teen's face.
"Really Kaoru." He giggled.
"You need to show up for lunch more often." The green haired teen added.
"Why, when I have my own personal chef." He smirked as he continued to devour the food.
More people showed up. Several girls came up to the hunky male beside Kaoru. He snorted upon seeing this, but said nothing as he ate. After all, the teen next to him was their newly elected class president. Kaoru ate his late lunch as the class filed in. Kojiro, his best friend and chef, talked to nearly everyone.
Kaoru finished his lunch. Kojiro was laughing with three girls. Tossing the container, silverware and garbage back into the bag, he stood up. Kojiro's reddish brown eyes followed him.
Kaoru headed to the garbage can. He heard people talking all around him. He was known as a loner, a punk, someone that would head butt you rather than talk to you. Therefore, most people stayed away from him. He heard a voice out in the hall. It was kind of deep, a little bit sexy and sounded bored as hell.
"Oh look, here we are." It said.
Kaoru was near the double doors. He glanced up. Not seeing anything too unusual, he began to turn away. A tall teen dressed in black, stepped through the doors. His shaggy hair was neat as he turned his keen eyes toward the pink haired teen. It wasn't how he was dressed that caught Kaoru's attention, it was the skateboard he held against one hip.
"Yes, this looks like the place." He stated in a calm, rather controlled tone.
Another boy came in behind him. This one wore a grey hooded jacket. The hood was up, so Kaoru didn't get to see what he looked like. He, too had a board. Kaoru smirked. He hurried back to Kojiro. To his surprise, the lanky teen sat alone. He was exactly where Kaoru left him.
Tripping over that one board that poked up, Kaoru began to fall forward. Kojiro's eyes widened. He reached out his hands. It was Kaoru's bad luck, that he somehow managed to avoid those hands. Instead he fell face first into the narrow chest. Those arms curled around him, pulling him up tight. They held on.
"Falling for me, Ru?" The voice he loved cooed in his ear.
Kaoru allowed himself just one more moment. He drew in the husky soapy scent mixed with the herbs the chef had been cooking with. This was his favorite smell in the world. Kojiro's scent was intoxicating. Kaoru breathed in deep long breaths of it. Then, knowing others would soon take notice, he shoved himself back.
