So there I started training. I had no idea what I was getting in to, commiting something like this, but I was determined to leave this damned place back to my family. After all, this forest wasn't ideal by any means anyway.

Sapphire led me to a site, like a campsite but also not. It's perfect training grounds and easy to live in, I suppose.

I sat by the fire whilst Sapphire grabbed a weapon and handed it to me. It was a small knife, made of sapphire gemstones and looks quite  throwable, similar to a kunai.

"What's this?" I ask, observing and inspecting the rather odd knife.

"It's a knife. I'll try to train you with it, but every sapphire gemstone represents a fraction of my power." He explains. "This has twelve, so 1/12 of my powers."

"That sounds weirdly cool.." I say. The man notices that I seem to be warming up to him. He has a thoughtful look on his masked face but he doesn't comment on it.

"So, what are your powers exactly?" I ask as I set the weapon down carefully.

"Well, I can teleport, and I can summon large weapons. That's basic for most gems though." He explains. "the weapons you summon are unique though, no gem can summon anothers unless they take the gemstone out of the gem's gem-spot and absorb it jnto their own, essentially combining their magic, consciousness, and their genetics." He explains. That doesn't sound nice at all.

"Humans can absorb gems too, but it's not been proven or seen yet. It's just a rumor." He adds, taking the knife and putting it inside a sharpener. "Also, please don't destroy this, or break it. I'd understand if it broke in a fight against a real, corrupted gem, but otherwise to get the magic back I should absorb it. If I don't that takes a lot of time and energy." He adds, again.

"Oh." I respond, not knowing what to think about that. I am quite a clumsy person, so I could probably break that easy.

"Why don't you just.." I say, trailing off as I take a few gems off the knife, until there is none left, and I hand them to him. "...take them off so its a regular knife?" I contine as I watch him absorb it.

"It means it has no power, no magic, though. It may not do well against a Gem." He says. "But it may work nonetheless..." He adds as he takes the gems and places them back in their designated places. They stuck automatically, like they magically fused onto the metal of the knife. He adds more gems though, so less of his power would be used.
"16th of my power. I believe this can take down atleast a medium threat." He comments as he hands it back to me.
"Try it." He orders, gesturing to the training dummy.

I take a deep breath before I put my finger into the hole at the bottom of the knife's handle and I throw it, hitting the dummy with a sharp velocity.

"Good job, but let's try aiming for a gem's gem." He says as he grabs a marker off a table and draws a rhombus like shape on the stomach area of the dummy. "The stomach and chest are the most common places for a Gem's mineral to be underneath their clothes." He explains. "Try to hit that. If you do in a actual fight, it will likely either crack the gem, break the gem into pieces, or the shiny rarity will pop out the socket and kill the Gem whilst getting you that precious stone. That's what we want most." He informs. Interesting...

So for the next few weeks I trained with this little knife to take out gems and work on my aim. By 1 month of this damned place, I was well off. But I was worried. I needed to get home to my father, but it's been a month already. I felt like such a bad caretaker. Avery was only 14- wait, no, 15 by now. She might not be able to take care of him by now....
