Ash groaned in his half-asleep state, trying to push off the person tugging on the white cuff of his sleeve by pushing them off. It didn't work. Ash's messy, short brown hair was a bit tangled, and his ocean-blue eyes finally opened up, to see his blond-haired, green-eyed friend, Matthew. He was a year older than Ash, and was Ash's best friend. Ash has been noticing signs of unusual affection from Matthew, but didn't pay attention to it.
Matthew: Cmon Ashy, it's almost time for breakfast! Mrs. Abigail is in the kitchen now and wants us to watch the little ones!
Matthew, despite being a year older than Ash, playfully tries to drag him out of his bed.
Ash: Matt... let me sleep 2 minutes longer?...
Matthew: No! We gotta go watch the kids! What if they burn down the building?
Ash shakes his head nonchalantly, and gets enough energy to sit up on his bed, which the mattress is nearly broken.
Ash: Matt... ugh, fine I'm coming... at least let me change out of these damn clothes...
Matthew laughs slightly, and leans closer, fixing the collar of Ash's shirt. He pulls away, before leaving the room to give Ash some privacy to change.
...today will be different.
