Ash goes to the cafeteria where Matthew is waiting for him and holding two plates of their breakfast. He sits down near some younger kids and pats one of them on the head in affection. He then faces Ash, who's leaning against the doorframe entrance of the cafeteria.
Matthew: Hey Ashy, over here!
Ash: ...don't call me that Matt.
Ash sits down across from Matthew, and grabs the plate of food that Matthew handed to him and begins to nibble on the sandwich.
Matthew: Oh cmon, you call me Matt all the time! In fact, you've been calling me that ever since you came here! And I'm sure by the way you've been acting lately, you wanna suck my—
Ash rolls his eyes and shoves Matthew's own sandwich into his mouth.
Ash: Oh shut up Matthew. The only thing you'll
be eating down your throat is your breakfast. Just... maybe stop with the dirty thoughts?Matthew: Oh cmon, you're no fun! A little boy love never hurt anyone...
Ash: I swear to God, you need to be sent away.
Matthew: What?! Don't be silly, you can't live without me. You'd be dead by now from those nasty monsters out there.
Ash: What monsters?
Matthew: The ones Sister Mary told us about! That's why we're safe here!
Ash: ...those stories aren't real Matthew.
Matthew: Ashy..! don't be silly... maybe just eat your breakfast, and we can hang out later?
Ash sighs, and reluctantly eats his sandwich, but realizing something seems off with it.
Ash: Ugh... what the hell did they do to the mayonnaise?
Matthew: What do you mean? I mean... you never eat your sandwich fully before and really only eat the crust for.. some reason.
Ash: I'll... go speak with Sister Abigail in the kitchen.
Ash stands up, and walks over to the kitchen, leaving Matt with some of the younger kids... it's not like Matt minds them for all he cares.
Inside the kitchen..
Ash swings the kitchen door open, its wooden frame creaking from the decades it's been nailed to the wall. He sees Miss Abigail delicately watering the plants near the kitchen window, and clears his throat.
Ash: ...Miss Abigail?
Miss Abigail: Huh— o-oh, yes dear?
Ash: Did you change the recipe for the sandwiches?
Miss Abigail: Ah... I'm afraid we've not. We made our own mayonnaise dear, ever since this place was open. We can't buy our own things in town, because of those... disgusting monsters... but hah, I'm getting off-topic, go eat now.
Ash: But—
Miss Abigail: Now sweetheart.
Ash sighs reluctantly and walks back to the cafeteria.
Ash: I'll find out what's going on. I know something's different about the recipe this time...
