A Soft Ending from the Start

Chapter 5

I was awoken by the sound of soft voices talking next to me. "So when do we start training sir?" I recognized the voice as Sol's and started opening up my eyes. Azrael was still laying on my leg but Sol was on the floor in front of us.

"Also, are you and Miss Vivien my new mom and dad?" That harmless question quickly made me turn as red as a charry. My head was still down but I could feel the chuckle followed by a very smooth voice. "I guess if that's alright with Msr.Vivien. I'll be your new dad and she will be your new mom but you have to ask her first, alright?" My head was spinning with questions. Are we really adopting a kid together? We barely know each other.

This kid did deserve to have loving parents or at least some parents who somewhat care. So I don't think there's much of a choice in the matter. Alright I made up my mind I will adopt this five year old little angel in front of me. I was brought out of my thoughts by more weight on my lap. I use this as a perfect excuse to start waking up.

"Mmm good morning Sol, how did you sleep? You as well Azrael, you look a lot better than before." Azrael turned to look up at me "hello I slept well thank you but I'm too tired to get up so I hope you don't mind staying here a little longer." I smiled and turned to Sol finale, meeting his eyes.

"Can you be my mom please?" I was taken aback by how direct he was. I smiled and nodded. I knew he was going to ask but I was so much happier then I thought I would be. "Of course. I would love nothing more than to care for you and watch you grow up to be the strong and brave man I know you will be." Both of us were tearing up at this point.

We all spent the day together on the sofa watching movies and reading. We learned quickly that Sol didn't know how to read. So I started reading him some of the books we have. I was surprised when Azrael left and came back with some actual children's books. The day went by very quickly. In almost a blink of an eye it was already dinner time.

I got started making the food with the Sol still attached to my leg, helping when I ask. I was quite surprised when Azrael helped us after setting the table. The only thing that shocked me more was that we even had a table. This was my first time seeing it.

The food was in the oven when Azrael Came up behind me. He was leaning on the counter unintentionally trapping me in front of him. "I got the door installed while we were all reading so he should be able to sleep in his own room tonight." From the corner of my eye I could see the young kid pout a little, making me giggle.

"Alright but I was thinking how about we all have a movie night to night.I could make popcorn and after we put sol to sleep we can continue to watch a little more mature movies." I whispered the last part so only the man in front of me could hear. He smirked and nodded while Sol was jumping around saying how fun it was going to be.

The oven dinged, pulling me out of my trance. I turned around as Azrael moved so I could get the food before he spoke up one last time before dinner. "I can join, I will just have to be late. I have something that I can not put off for any longer. But I will try and get it done as soon as I can." We nodded and sat down to enjoy the food we all worked together to make.
