"What do you girls think about going to Ulta after school? I really need to get some new concealer." Jennifer scrolling through her phone.
"That's fine with me. I needed to get some stuff too." Kalani nodding her head.
The two looking over to Jocelyn who was zoning out. She hadn't touched her food.
"Hello, Jocelyn. Did you want to go? We can go another day if you can't." Jennifer waving her hand in front of her face.
"Huh....oh yeah. I should be free."
"Did someone forget to take their Valium today?" Jennifer said jokingly.
Jocelyn's phone began to ring. She looked to see who was calling, and she immediately rolled her eyes.
"Who's calling?" Kalani looking over to her. Trying to get a glance to Julianna's phone.
"My mom's boyfriend." She said while declining the call.
"You mean that old man? Your mom is still together with that guy?" Jennifer looking surprised.
"Yeah, unfortunately." Jocelyn began texting.
Kalani looking confused as to their reactions, "But he seemed nice. Is he not?"
"He's a sugar daddy Kalani. That's why her mom got with him." Jennifer leaning in closer to her, "It's for his money."
"Can you stop spreading lies Jennifer." Jocelyn looking over to her with annoyance.
Jennifer mouthing fine, as she went back onto her phone.
"I'll be right back, my mom's calling." Jocelyn getting up, putting the phone up to her ear. "Hello?"
The girls watching her walk off. Jennifer slowly putting her phone down before tapping on Kalani.
"Yeah?"
"Did you really not know about Jocelyn's past living situation?"
Kalani shaking her head no.
"Well, I can only tell you so much. But Jocelyn's mom used to work at a strip club."
Kalani gasping, "her mom was a stripper?!"
Jennifer smacking her on the shoulder, "Shut the fuck up. Can you be any louder?"
"Ow, sorry...I was just shocked.."
"Anyways, Jocelyn claims her mom wasn't a stripper but a bartender. But who knows. That's how her mom met her future rich boyfriend there."
"Why am I barely finding out about this?"
"Because, it was secret between the two of us. Before you came around."
"If it was a secret, then why are you telling me? Wouldn't she get upset if she found out?"
"Well, she's been pissing me off lately. So that's on her." Jennifer picking her phone back up. Continuing to text on it.

Jocelyn was walking down the school hallway while on the phone. Listening to her mom lecture her.
"Ok mom."
"I mean it Joce, can you please show him a little bit more respect. He's your stepdad."
"I didn't know you guys were married." Jocelyn saying under her breath.
"Hey, don't be like that. He's been treating us well and treating you like a daughter. I don't understand why you're being so difficult."
"I'm sorry ok? I was just trying to eat, I didn't feel like getting calls." She continued to walk down.
