"I need everyone to follow the directions closely." Mr. Howard wrote on the board what he wanted the class to make.

June glanced over to Katherine who was putting on her apron.

He took a deep breath in, making his way over to her.

"Hey Katherine." He stood there awkwardly. His hands glued to his side.

She looked over to him, a smile spreading on her face. "Oh hi June."

"I came over because...I was wondering if..." Junes eyes looking around. Anywhere but to her.

Katherine waiting for his question.

"I was wondering if you wanted to partner up. That's if you don't have a partner already."

Katherine tapped him, his eyes going back to her.

"I don't have a partner, so I'll be happy to have you as mine."

June nodded his head, trying to fight his smile.

"You know, you're much shyer than I thought."

"Oh...really? I'm not usually shy. I don't know why I am all of a sudden. Usually I can go on and on about things." June rambling on.

"It's ok, I can be shy at times too. It took a lot of courage in me to talk to you."

"Wow, I would have never guessed. It seemed so natural to you. You have this sort of thing to you, that makes people feel comfortable easily."

Katherine looking off flustered. "That's reassuring to hear."

June noticing, this making him flustered as well, "Yeah.."

"Oh, you don't have and apron. Here, you can use this one." Katherine quickly grabbing a spare. Holding it out to him.

"Thank you."

He has never been so conscious of a person before. Lately he would always look for her in class. Especially during lunch. Glancing around.

His heart beating faster as he put the apron on.

Him clearing his throat, "What is your next class?"

"I have math next. Why do you ask?"

"I was just curious.." June began to mess around with whatever was on the counter.

Katherine nodded as she began to scoot closer to him. "If it's not too much, do you want to walk with me? I could use the company."

His eyes looking down to her, not realizing how much closer she to got to him.

"Yeah, sounds fine to me."

She smiles and nods. Continuing to take out the supplies.

June trying to do the same, but ends up dropping the pan. As an attempt to pick it up quickly, he ends up banging his head.

Katherine wincing as she sees him hit his head. "Are you ok??"

"Yeah, I'm good." June stayed crouched on the floor. Trying to hide his face as he was embarrassed.

He didn't want to see the other students looking at him, especially her. It was one thing to drop something so loud, but to bang ones head as well was worse.
