Sunghoon's pov:

As I entered through the grand doors to the banquet room, a wave of energy washed over me.

Guests filled the space, their eyes turning to me as I made my entrance.

I could feel the weight of their gazes, but my own eyes searched for just one person: Sunoo.
He was the one who made me feel comfortable, the one I trusted.

Sunoo stood out among the crowd,
his all-white outfit shimmering softly under the lights.

The way the fabric draped over him accentuated his features, making him look ethereal.
His bright, genuine smile lit up the room, and in that moment,
I couldn't help but think how truly beautiful he was.

A warm flutter spread through my chest, a mix of admiration and something deeper-a yearning
I couldn't quite articulate.

As everyone bowed in respect, I delivered my thank-you speech. Once I finished, I raised my champagne glass to toast.

Then Duke Kim introduced the guests, and I tried to engage with them,
but my thoughts kept drifting back to Sunoo.
He chatted with others, and every smile he shared made my heart race.

I couldn't quite understand why my emotions surged whenever I looked at him.
Sunoo had always been my friend,
yet these days felt different.

Each time our eyes met, a spark ignited within me,
leaving me both excited and confused. Was it just friendship I felt,
or was there something more?
I liked the way he made me feel,
but the thought scared me.
What if I was misinterpreting everything?

As I continued to mingle with the guests,
I saw Duke Kim taking his partner, Duke Jin, to the dance floor,
leading the way as couples began to fill the space with laughter and movement.

But when other guests approached me, asking for a dance,
I found myself declining each invitation.
I didn't want to dance with anyone else; my heart was set on Sunoo.

Without realizing it,
my gaze wandered back to him.

Suddenly, an Alpha approached Sunoo, extending his hand in an invitation to dance.

A rush of emotions surged through me-possessiveness and protectiveness flared up, leaving me breathless.

Why did I care so much?

It felt like an instinct I couldn't control, and it confused me even more.

Was this just friendship, or was it something deeper?
