"Hey Frank!" Gerard called from his office/den that was in the side annexe of his home. "Can you come in here for a second!"

"Sure" Frank smiled around the doorway in an instant. "What is it?"

"Just wondering where we're up to with the plans for the signing" Gerard clarified.

"Yeah. I'm just awaiting confirmation of which hotel it's gonna be at, and then I'll look at arranging our accommodation. It's up to you if you wanna stay at the same hotel, or if you'd prefer somewhere else" Frank replied.

"Um. I dunno. Maybe better if it's not the same place. There may be some fans staying there, and I don't really want it to be weird" Gerard stated.

"Yeah" Frank shrugged. "Leave it with me. I'm on it. Like I say, just awaiting some confirmation, but I'll sort it. Everything going ok?" he now asked with an easy smile as he took a seat opposite Gerard.

"Yeah. I think so. Just stressing a bit. You know how I get with public appearances."

"Ah man. You'll be fuckin' awesome Gee" Frank encouraged. "And I'll be there to hold your hand" he joked with a chuckle.

"Yeah. Whatever" Gerard rolled his eyes but couldn't help but smile in return to Frank's teasing.

"You wanna go grab some lunch?" Frank asked. "I'm starving."

"Nah. I can't. Really got to finish up here. But you go."

"How about I grab us a bagel from the deli and we can work on that together while we eat huh?" Frank suggested, pointing down at the paperwork on Gerard's desk.

Gerard smiled at his friend. He was always so thoughtful, without even realising it.

"Yeah! That'd be great. Thanks Frank."

"No problem!"

Gerard couldn't help but smile as he watched Frank leave his office. He was always so positive and could always put Gerard's mind at ease. He would be honestly lost without him. He really would.

The two of them had been friends since being kids. Their families had always been close and so the two of them, along with Mikey, had spent a lot of time together. When the Iero's moved closer to the Way's, the two brothers spent even more time with Frank. The three of them had been inseparable and all very protective of one another. And when Gerard's career began to take off, it was Frank who was with him every step of the way, encouraging him and offering advice. He was a constant presence in Gerard's life – all of his family were in honesty, but when they were busy with their own lives, Frank was still there – by his side for every up and down he encountered along the way. That's why it made complete sense for Frank to take on the role of his assistant. Gerard had worried initially, that Frank would be offended. He didn't want him to feel lesser than him in any way by the position. He needn't have worried however, as Frank was ecstatic at the job offer. And honestly, he was an absolute lifesaver to Gerard. He organised almost every aspect of his life, and he never once looked like he resented him for the fact. It just worked.

As he sat opposite him now, taking large bites from his bagel, Gerard couldn't help but smile internally. He couldn't imagine doing all this alone, without Frank's cheery disposition making every day just that bit more pleasant. In fact, he wouldn't want to do this at all if Frank wasn't in it with him. He dreaded the day Frank realised he was better than this and found something more than being his best friend's assistant.

He'd always known. Deep down it had always been there. The fact that he was completely and utterly in love with Frank. A love so strong that he regularly cried himself to sleep over it. He cried for what he knew they would never have. Frank saw Gerard as a brother almost, and there was no way in hell Gerard could ever have him in the way he longed to. But it was getting harder and harder every day. They were both getting older, and Gerard wanted nothing more than to settle down, but he wanted the person he would spend the rest of his life with to be Frank. There was no one else. There never would be. He was certain of that. But in order not to jeopardize their relationship as it was, he would simply have to swallow down those feelings and just accept Frank as nothing more than his best friend.
