Before Amir could even groan, Samir had already left, leaving him alone in the dense, primitive forest.Looking around, the identical scenery made it impossible for him to distinguish directions. Not to mention whether there were any fierce carnivorous animals in this sea of trees, even if there were no dangers at all, he wouldn't be able to find his way back.Getting up from the ground, he felt a wave of dizziness and touched the back of his head, finding it warm and sticky.Damn, that guy was ruthless—he practically cracked open my skull. As Amir continued to curse his master silently, he leaned against a tree trunk, taking deep breaths to ease his dizziness. When he started to feel less dizzy, he heard his stomach rumbling loudly, realizing that he hadn't eaten anything all day except for breakfast. He rummaged through all his pockets, finding nothing but his black hunter ID card—no coins, let alone any food. Sigh, the conditions at the guild had been so good recently that he had grown accustomed to not carrying anything on him.Silently shedding a few tears in his mind, Amir now truly began to worry.Could it be that he was really going to die here? How unfair would that be? Is there really such a thing as a master who treats their disciple like this?Thinking about how his master seemed to have no teaching experience at all, Amir felt even more uneasy.Damn it, he was still a test subject. What if he ended up being killed by this?Shaking his head, he knew that worrying wasn't going to help. If he didn't do something, he really would be in trouble. From his initial observations, his master was definitely not the type to come back and collect his corpse.First, he needed to determine a direction to move forward; otherwise, his chances of getting back alive would be slim. If he went the wrong way, he'd only get further from safety, which would truly seal his fate.Looking around, everything was pitch black, and he could hear strange noises from birds and animals, causing Amir to shiver involuntarily. He found a tree and quickly climbed up, giving himself a mental pat on the back for his agility. If it were before, not only would he struggle with climbing such a high tree, but even scaling a university wall would have been a challenge. He never knew how great his potential was until he was forced to push himself. He only stopped when he reached the top of the canopy. Looking out, he felt like he was in a sea of leaves, with deep green waves stretching endlessly, merging with the sky in the distance. The entire sky was filled with twinkling stars, casting a silvery glow over the world. The natural beauty was so breathtaking it almost took his breath away.Of course, if he weren't in such a dire situation, this scene would have been even more wonderful to him. After scanning his surroundings, Amir spotted the high mountain where the guild headquarters was located. He remembered that he had taken a helicopter directly down from the cliff and met his master, Samir, before heading to the wooden house. He had a general sense of the direction. Now, he just needed to head towards that mountain. However, as simple as it sounded, looking at the distance he had to cover to reach the mountain, Amir couldn't help but mentally curse his master's ancestors. Was his master really so intent on making him suffer? Did he somehow offend that guy, who now seemed to be using this special training as an excuse to get rid of him?Silently climbing down from the treetop, Amir felt a deep sense of despair. However, as he continued to descend, he suddenly sensed something was off. His left hand seemed to be resting on something different from the tree trunk—soft and somewhat slimy. That cold, slippery sensation—could it be...Amir stiffly turned his head, and sure enough, a large black python was rearing up, meeting his gaze. Its mouth was flickering with a crimson tongue, and its sharp teeth were bared in a menacing display.Amir sucked in a cold breath, and his hand recoiled as if shocked. As a result, he slipped and fell to the ground. As he was falling, the python opened its mouth wide and started moving swiftly toward him. After falling from a height twice in one day, Amir no longer had time to lament his miserable fate. He jumped up and sprinted desperately in the direction he had observed earlier.Rustling sounds came from the surrounding underbrush, and it felt like snakes were slithering everywhere. After running a few steps, Amir suddenly tripped and fell to the ground. Before he could get up, he felt something wrapping around his foot. The python, as thick as a bowl, coiled tightly around Amir's entire body, continuously constricting. He could almost hear the "crack" of his bones as pain and suffocation overwhelmed him. Yet, fear of death somehow brought clarity to his mind.He needed a weapon to injure the snake.Speaking of weapons, didn't he have one on him? Although rusty, it was extremely sharp."Hey, I don't know what's going on with you or why you're attached to me, but since I've become your host, you'd better help me out in this situation."Amir found himself thinking about conversing with the dagger in his mind. Perhaps, deep down, he instinctively knew that the dagger had its own consciousness and could hear what he wanted to say."Host is about to die, and you're just going to stay hidden? You've been living here for so long without paying any rent!"Amir felt his strength nearly depleted, with the bones in his shoulders, arms, and thighs creaking as if they were about to break.Suddenly, a red light flashed from his wrist. Gritting his teeth, Amir concentrated all his strength into his right hand, feeling the cool metal touch in his palm. He closed his eyes and thrust the dagger forcefully outward, then began to slash wildly. The constricting python's body loosened, allowing Amir to struggle free and collapse onto the ground, breathing heavily. The red light on the dagger didn't fade; it spread to his right hand and gradually enveloped his entire body.Amir felt the pain in his bones vanish, his previous injuries from the fall healed, and even his hunger diminished significantly. Not bad—this thing also has healing properties. Amir looked at the twisted, snake-like dagger in his palm and smiled faintly.Feeling a bit tired, Amir decided to lie down flat on the ground, spreading out like a starfish. The damp soil covered with thick leaves felt surprisingly comfortable, like lying on a soft bed.A breeze blew by, and the cool sensation against his skin made Amir squint his eyes in contentment. The rustling sounds all around seemed like the wind stirring layers of leaves, but they also sounded as if countless snakes were slithering through the underbrush.Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open, feeling a cold sweat break out all over his body.He saw that the trees around him were crawling with snakes.Grayish-black pythons of various sizes and lengths—there were at least a few hundred of them, densely packed on the tree trunks, all staring at him intently.Amir swallowed hard and did the only thing he could think of at the moment. He jumped up and ran for his life.
